Product Overview

1080 CFM Power Attic Roof Mount Ventilator will ventilate hot air from the attic and pull in cooler air through undereave or soffit vents to lower attic temperatures. These power attic vents feature precision-balanced fan blades for minimum vibration when in use. This unit is suitable for up to an 8/12 roof pitch.

  • Keeping your attic cooler and well ventilated will prolong the life of composite roof shingles and other roofing components, and help protect the roof structure itself

  • Included adjustable thermostat allows the fan to run only when needed
  • Durable steel construction withstands impacting winds, flying debris and hail
  • Built-in steel mesh grille keeps out birds, squirrels and other rodents
  • A cooler attic will keep you home cooler, reducing costs of air conditioning and wear and tear on your cooling equipment
  • Reduces heat buildup in the attic and helps make living areas more comfortable
  • Equalizes temperatures inside and outside the attic, helping prevent weather-induced home deterioration
  • Low profile is aesthetically pleasing on the roofline
  • As an exhaust vent, this fan requires a minimum of 600 sq. in. net free air intake airflow areas to perform safely and correctly

What is actual diameter of metal duct of the fan?
Asked by: JustAsk
Hi JustAsk, this fan has a duct diameter of 14.5"--this is the hole that will need to be cut in the roofing to accomodate installation of the unit.

What are the dangers of not providing enough NFA?

The product description says, "as an exhaust vent, this fan requires a minimum of 600 sq. in. net free air intake airflow areas to perform safely and correctly." Does that mean the unit will fail or start a fire if my NFA is too low? What would you recommend for a 350 sqft garage?
Asked by: nartmot
The recommended Net Free Area is needed for the fan to operate at its intended back pressure. With reduced NFA the fan has to work "harder" to accomplish the airflow and thus can overheat. The motor in the unit contains a thermal overload protector which will prevent it from catching fire, but it will render the motor inoperable. A small separated attic space, such as in your 350 sq. ft. garage may be best served by static ventilation as it is hard to provide the necessary intake NFA for even the lowest of CFM powered attic ventilators.

I was really excited to be able to replace the ugly turbine attic fans with these beautiful, sleek fans. The price was great. I read the reviews about it being so easy to install. I have 2 turbines so I bought 2 of the new vents. What you don't know is that you have to have the electrical wires for the connection already in place in order to hook it up, then it's easy. If you don't then it's going to cost another $400 to $500 to have an electrician come out and create the connection, for each. I can't afford that and I'm not going to attempt a major wiring project like that. So I'm going to return them and keep looking for another option, maybe solar.

I can straighten it out but should not come that way. Was shipped a box in a box. Outside an inside back had no damage at all leading me to believe it was packed that way.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from replacement vent unit burns out in 6-7 years, easy enough to pull the motor and fan and swap into housing from old unit

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Reduced our A/C Use! My husband installed the fan and it's been working great. We got the smallest fan and set the thermostat on the fan to 85 degrees, so that when the attic gets that hot it goes on. Our A/C doesn't run as much. And this week the temps have been in the 90's here in Tooele, Utah. The only negative is that my husband can hear it running, but it's not loud. I rarely notice it. Writing this for my husband, Lloyd.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good, quiet fan, made in USA Buy it. I installed in a few hours. The thermostat works great and is pretty accurate. The fan is quiet -I installed it just a few feet from a bedroom window and my wife didn't even know it was on. Appears to be well constructed and is MADE IN USA; other brands such as Master Flow that are Chinese made (junk). The only negative thing is that the instructions regarding how to install this thing on the roof are poor. The instructions indicate that you just install it over several courses of shingles, which will cause roof leaks. Instead, you need to install the skirt of the fan underneath the shingles. Check Youtube for installing similar products for better advice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good deal. The ventilator is very easy to install, and works just as advertised. Runs quiet and does an excellent job of cooling my greenhouse. An adjustable thermostat turns it on and off.
