Customer Questions & Answers

What do you use to cut this plastic lattice?

I need to cut this lattice to 3'x8' section for a pet, and wonder if it's difficult to cut with a hacksaw, or if some other tool would be better (since I'm cutting the longer part).
Asked by: sandybeach
I used a hacksaw to cut mine and it worked okay.

How would I attach the lattices to each other to make something like a room screen/divider, sort of a zig-zag pattern?

Asked by: BigPhatCatLover
You have a couple of choices - One is to build aluminum frames 4'x8'. The frames should be at least 1"x1" tubing. This would be the lightest but cost the most and you would have to use self tapping sheet metal screws. Second option is to get some good high grade 2x4's, rip down the center, and join with mitered corners (glue and screw with 3 inch GRK trim screws. Attach the lattice to the 2x4 with 3/4 lath screws. You could paint or stain the wood framing - color of your choice. If you use the full height, panels can be attached together with a piano hinge, or 4 - 2x2 hinges.

Is it possible to roll up the 4x8 foot sheets to transport?

Asked by: Artay
Yes. I had them shipped to me and they were rolled up in a cylindrical package. Quickly straightened themselves out when opened up too.

trellis for plants?

If I use the molding that attaches to the sides of this, do you think it would be strong enough to stand up on it's own? I would bury part of it to hold it down. I'm looking to make a trellis with it for some kind of plant to add a little more privacy to my yard.
Asked by: Laurie
It is not strong enough. the moulding is just for looks only. After a period of time it will warp and fall off. I suggest you consider using pressure treated 2x2s or something similar.

0.2 in. x 48 in. x 8 ft. White Vinyl Classic Diamond Lattice is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 36.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible We put two sheets of this up on a privacy wall at the end of August. It's now completely destroyed-cracked and broken in multiple places, despite having followed installation instructions. In 5 months, a product that should have lasted years is now a giant waste of money I will be contacting HD and the company if needed to attempt to reconcile this issue. Think twice if you're purchasing this over wood.

It was easy it cut where it need to be; easy to drill thru for the screws I used; and looks great as an enclosure around my back porch.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bows with heat. Used this for the ceiling on back porch. It looked great at first, then when summer came the lattice expanded with the heat, bowed and sagged. It cracked and broke in a few places. Recommend using wood lattice on the underside of a ceiling instead. Other applications may work better for the vinyl.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality product that holds up to time I had a sheet of this lattice sitting around for 6-7 years and decided I would use it to block the view to a porch. I purchased several more sheets for the project and was amazed that I couldn't tell the older one from the new ones even though it had been covered in dust from sitting in the wood shop all these years! All I had to do was hose it off and it looked brand new!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vinyl Lattice - best purchase EVER Pro: No need to paint and repaint or stain as the similar wood lattice Will never break and crack from Sunshine. I love this lattice and well worth the price in the long-run. Con: While wooden lattice stands up on it's on to be screwed or fastened this 4'x8' piece demanded 2 people, because it is soft and bowed and buckled all over until secured.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Lattice We attached this lattice to the side of our front porch for a clematis vine. It is easy to maneuver and great quality, we had it hung in minutes and get many compliments on it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent choice for sight line breakup The lattice requires no preparation for installation other than cutting to fit and drilling holes for fasteners. It was easy to cut (used a hacksaw blade with good results) and easy to drill. Looks great and won't need paint.
