Answer:
Yes...You could use these on a level hand rail or probably up to a 45 degree stair hand rail' If you decide to use them you will see you can slide them apart to adjust them.

Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question. These will only fit the Traditional and Williamsburg style of railing. If you're looking for the Premier Stair Railing brackets, they are model # 73013838. Both the bracket and stair railing are available through the special order program at your local Home Depot store.

3-1/2 in. x 3-1/2 in. x 3 in. Vinyl Traditional Stair Angle Bracket (4-Pack) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Much better than anything available in the store. The brackets are the only thing available for stair railings for any unconventional steps. They were not easy to align and the railings were of poor quality for the price. I have been a handyman for over 50 years so I'm not a novice. I would not recomend someone not experienced in this type of work trying to use these brackets with the instructions included. That's why contractots charge hundreds of dollars to install a single 6' stair railing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Expensive and not a good fit Not a good fit with the hand rail from veranda. Both Hd and Veranda need to do a better job at making sure they sell a product that fits as it's pricey to begin with, not to mention available on line only which adds extra cost.

I ordered the Veranda Stair Angle Bracket kit for a project I was doing with some deck railings that I had removed when we enclosed closed our deck and turned it into a 3 season room. I wanted to reuse the railings on our stone stairway out in front of the house. These railings had been installed on our deck several years earlier so I wasn't sure if the newer brackets would fit. I had them shipped to the store for pickup, and they were delivered on time. I brought them home and tried them on a piece of the upper railing to ensure that they would fit, and they were a perfect match! Installation was easy, the screws were included with each kit (you will need a Square tipped bit). For me, the hardest part was getting the correct measurement of the rail. The brackets add about 2" on each end so you'll need to compensate for that when you measure the length of the railing from post to post. The angle of the railings I installed exceeded the movement range of the brackets, but I found that I could remove the railing cap from the swivel base and flip the base 180 degrees, and slide the railing cap back onto the base to overcome this. Doing so gave me the additional movement and the angle I needed without compromising the integrity of the brackets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product - Long Processing Period The product works well, and is a must if you do not, or cannot, have your railings at the 32 degree angle. I have used on a few decks and all are doing well after 3-4 years. The most recent purchase however, they shipped 3 top brackets and 1 bottom bracket. I returned to HD and they could not expedite the replacement, and I had to wait the full 5 days of processing before they shipped. Could have been customer service clerk who did not want to investigate, but I got orders faster when I ordered at home. Make sure you get all you need in one order as you will be waiting for 2 weeks before they arrive. Other than that, good product but expensive.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Change review I am changing my review rating because................I did not bother with Home Depot because I didn't want to have to send the whole package back and wait for another to be shipped...., but I contacted the manufacturer at 1 800 336-2383. They are sending me the end caps in the mail. Great Service !
