Could this be used for sill plate for a garage on a slab

Asked by: Rich
Absolutely. You can use this product anywhere that you customarily would use wood. The product works the same as wood. It may expand/contract, but no more so than wood.

Can a cut edge be left exposed if sanded and painted?

Have a potential application which requires cutting a profile on the bottom edges to match existing.
Asked by: oldretiredgeezer
Yes. In fact, I installed boards several years ago to replace exterior window trim, neglecting to paint the cut edge, and have had no issues.

3/4 in. x 5-1/2 in. x 8 ft. White PVC Trim (6-Pack) is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Deck Project I used Veranda PVC trim to clad the rim joists and risers on my deck project with great results. It was easy to work with, and cut cleanly with a 12", 96 tooth carbide blade. I found the Veranda product to be a cost effective alternative to Azek.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from New to PVC Trim The package arrived with some damage to the box. After opening the box I noticed some small imperfections in the boards. I was able to make the damaged sides the inside of my columns. PVC is interesting to work with. Be sure to read all the material you can find about working the trim boards. For instance if ripping be sure to not stop feeding past the blade. It will create blade marks on the edge of the material. Be sure to think about dust/particle removal and be sure to wear some kind of breathing apparatus. The material removed becomes electrically charged and clings to everything. PVC is not structural. I am looking forward to not having to deal with mold and rot. The cut-off pieces make fun pieces to carve. My first experience of working with it is overall very positive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best deal out there I have been replacing the fascia on my house and an outside building. This no hassle shipped in, in about 2-3 days is the best deal that I have come across. The PVC boards are consistent in length, width, shape and color, and are a joy to work with. I attach all my fascia and drip moldings with white stainless screws also available on line from HD. Replaces the rotten peeling pine and is the exact same dimensions in a given size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good trim board for outside door Love the product, won't mold or rot! I opened at the store because the package was torn, I am glad I did because the Shipper damaged one of the boards, Home Depot replaced it with another board, thank you!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprise delivery This heavy package arrived via UPS in half the time predicted. I was amazed and pleased with the quality of the material. Better than buying at the store!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Edges are cut foam -- not hard surface all sides This trim is not finished on edges and the web catalog entry does not tell you this. If you want a stand-alone trim board, do not buy this item. This board will need a molding on each edge. This is also true of 3-1/2 width.
