I use a weak solution of Dawn on a soft cloth, then rinse off with clean water....these are very durable items and stand up very well to all weather situations.
Hope this helps...

Answer:
Buy a pack of name brand brand AA rechargeable batteries (4 for about $10). Replace battery in those lights not staying on as long. Old battery is likely not holding a full charge.

If a couple of your lights only last a couple hours at night it might be that they are getting some shade during the day where as the other two are obviously getting sunlight for most if not all day long. I have four that are spaced on the railing along my lower deck and ramp. I have one that works less than the others just because it doesn't get as much sunlight during the day. I plan to buy more of these post lamps for another ramp that I have running to the back of my yard. I suspect they will work differently than the others too as they get more afternoon shade. Answer:
Just pull out the tab of paper that is sticking out of the battery area, and if it won't come out open battery case and take out the paper, then make sure batteries are in correct position before closing the battery compartment back up.

Answer:
As far as I know, the entire unit is rust free. I haven't had them through winter yet. But, with the watering, I haven't seen any implication of rusting.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by SIMPLY GORG!!!! LOVE THEM!!!!! Just had these installed when I replaced my back steps and railings. For the price, I am THROUGHLY IMPRESSED with these solar caps so far. They stay on until dawn and even on cloudy days they still hold a great charge. I had purchased some more expensive ones just in case but returned them since these are doing the job. They give off a nice glow and work for my needs which was more for decorative enjoyment. I have lots of solar lights around my house and I REALLY LOVE the fact that bugs are not really attracted to them....SCORE!!!!! I guess for the money if they last for a while then I won't complain. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Lights I put 35 of the lights on a fence and they look great. I had bought them before and used them on a small bridge over a creek and those lights still light up after three years. One thing about them I don't like is the top will twist off very easy. A fix for that is a small piece of double sticky tape on the bottom edge. With the tape on, the top stays in place. It's a very good light. July 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good looking light Nice addition for deck railing for the price. Bought several but had 1 that would not go off, always on. Another that won't hold a charge, but for price can't really complain. October 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bright light! Looks great light last all night . Fence looks complete October 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by My Hd, one stop shopping I bought 21 0f these lights, first I bought enough HOME Depot treated wood to build a secure fence for my Morky puppy. My first attempt of fence building, the proper materials, hardware and tool's. the lights give a finished look. April 26, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Needs a better level of quality While inexpensive and easy to install they are really inferior. They barely last 6 months and need to be replaced. Buying new rechargeable batteries is not the answer for they stop lighting. Definitely poor quality. Would pay more for lights that are not so disposable. September 27, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great for the price I purchased 12 of these three years ago because they looked great on me pic railing posts. This year I needed to replace the batteries in three of the units. (Not bad) One of them did not come back to life after trying two batteries so I needed to replace it. The price is very competitive so I purchased a couple extras as spares. September 13, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not for use with vinyl fence posts The information with these units should expressly say they're for WOOD 4"X4" fence posts, because wood posts aren't really 4"X4". They're closer to 3 1/2" X3 1/2" and these caps will work just fine. But vinyl posts are really 4" X 4", and these will not fit. I purchased 16 of these and was disappointed when I found they won't fit my posts. They look like decent units otherwise. Home Depot took them back without any problems. August 13, 2016
