So I bought a lot of these lights for our patio fence. They worked for one season quit working so replaced all the batteries still not working .Took them apart and cleaned all the contacts started working again so happy. Batteries were expensive though. $7.00 for 2 which is what each light takes. Will see how long they work now.

I bought four of these for the shorter section of fence that goes along our drive. Less than a year later, 2 of them no longer work. (Yes, I tried changing the batteries)
For nearly $30 a light, better to go with the cheaper option because you will have to replace these every year anyway, and $40 for 8 is a MUCH better deal than $27/apiece!

Plan was for 2 of these at the bottom of the stairs and low voltage ones around the rest of the deck posts that can be turned on and off.
These are complete Junk. They look very nice in the daylight...that's about it. Out of the box one didn't work. Took it back swapped it out. 2nd one worked but would start flickering by 9pm....took it back and swappd it out. 3rd one same flickering, Swapped batteries to good nicads and still no difference. We have one light that works somewhat when it wants. If it rains they both clicker.
I really wanted these to work because they do look nice. there are alternatives but your looking at at least 3 times the price or your moving to a low voltage setup.
put them up in fall one light works still (for a few hours) other is dead.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Pharoah42 Very Disappointing
I bought these (3) to top a white, vinyl privacy fence; hoping for a small apron of light on the fence panels, but no such luck. I realize that they are for ambiance only and will not light up a yard but there is no residual light at all, hence, no ambiance. A glo-stick would have put out more light than these. I'm thinking an internal reflector would have helped in the design but then, I'm not the designer. Very poor value for the money. If anyone knows of something similar that works better, I'd love to hear of it.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bill4641 good price
At 1st I was skeptical of the only review of these lights, but I figured I would buy one and try it out. The light mounted on post perfectly and the light lit up that night ,not bad illumination for 24.00. It took 2 seconds to figure out the on-off switch as it is not marked but for the price of the light I am not complaining. The batteries that come with the light work but are cheap and will need to be replaced within a year but thats ok.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Tobes Did not work, terrible instructions on Barrette Solar post top
Right out of the package, did not work. Pulled the battery tab like they said, looked all over for the protective film they talked about removing in the instructions and it isn't there. The "on/off" switch is pathetic. You can't tell if it is either on or off. It has two tiny bulbs inside, can't tell if they are LEDs. I had put the unit outside all day from 845am until 7pm on a bright sunny day. Tried the unit in a dark room, nothing. No light. Moved the switch back and forth, no light. It shouldn't be that hard, this is very simple technology by today's standards. The four lines of instructions say to use exterior grade caulk to attach it. What type? I wish there was a no star option, doesn't deserve a single star if it doesn't work. I had bought a total of four of them, but I didn't take the others out of the package yet, thankfully. I'm returning them all. I searched the web a bit to see if anyone else had had trouble with these but I didn't find anything.
