This was the first time I have tried to install a door jamb made of cellular PVC. It is a very attractive white color and comes with a warranty against rot, insects, etc. that made it ideal for the new exterior door on my girlfriend's art studio.
The instructions are very clear and easy to follow, but the built-in door stop and weather strip interfere with the use of a router template for the hinge and latch mortises. Also, I made the mistake of following the illustration for installing the threshold (or sill plate) which requires removing part of the built-in door stop at the bottom of the door. My threshold was rounded rather than a simple slant as illustrated, so I had to carve the curve with a utility knife (NOT EASY!), only to discover I had removed too much material from the outside edge of the jamb. Luckily, I'd saved the pieces I had cut out, so I simply modified them and glued them back in place with PVC cement..
My only other problem was that the long sides of the jamb are pretty flexible, so you have shim them along almost the entire length of both sides of the door or they will bend out of proper alignment. The wooden jambs I've installed are not nearly so flexible. All in all though, I very pleased with the final results and the door fits perfectly into this new jamb.

excellent better than composite this was PVC composite this was not like regular composite like HD was selling - smooth finish like PVC, not like standard composite - should be carry in store for replace jambs - labors to high to replace jambs with treated pine or T&G pine that comes with standard jamb door have gone to ordering exterior doors with PVC jambs for new door or replacement fully hung doors
