Can I make an eight foot span by using two sets?

Asked by: tony
Thank you for your question. You cannot join two railing sections together to make an 8' span. A post will need to be added in the center to divide it into 2- 4' spans.

Why isn't the cap rail (without holes ) sold separately? Many people are looking for this. It doesn't make sense to force people to buy a pack if all they want is a cap rail.
Asked by: PM
Thank you for your question. There is a cap rail already available for the Washington and Traditional rails, and other railing systems can use a deck board for a cap rail.

Can I just order the top rail separately? I had planned on using both the top and bottom rail as top railing and wasn't planning on the bottom rail being pre-drilled completely through.
Asked by: Ken
Thank you for your inquiry. The railings are only available as kits and not individually.

ArmorGuard 6 ft. Brazilian Walnut Capped Composite Rail Kit (3-Pack) is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Product Easy to work with however did take lots of fasteners - Which did run the cost up. However I would still use the product. Direction were also easy to follow.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Product This product is not complicated to install, but it does take time. We really took our time since this product is so expensive we measured twice for everything. The fact that the holes are predrilled really helped. Make sure to leave yourself enough room under the bottom rail so you can fit a drill otherwise you have to angle the screws. The horizontal rails took about an hour per section but the stair rails took about 2.5 hours per section. You have to redrill all the holes at the angle of your stairs which can be a little tricky. I used the Pegatha baluster connectors and aluminum balusters. You must use crush blocks like the instructions say otherwise they will sag in the middle. I just used a chunk the rail for that which works fine. Looks very nice when done. Downside is the total railing system costs just as much as the composite deck itself.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent. Should last, but beware what you're getting Comes in 3 pieces. Two of the pieces have small holes in them for balusters. Wish they sold them separately as I was installing horizontal cable railing. Otherwise they look good and should last quite a long time... The ends had the inner material bulging outward. Needed to cut away.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cannot imagine a homeowner putting this stuff together. Two professional builders spent a lot of time and money putting this system together. Material is inconsistant and very hard to work with.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Long lasting Very easy to use. I am using them for hand rails on steps. Wish they did not come pre drilled.
