I bought 10 of this lights. The first thing I did was change the batteries for a strongest one. This lights come with a 600mAh and I changed for a 2400mAh and work perfect.

I was surprised to find a solar powered light so cheap, so I bought two of them. Its a good price, but realized you are getting what you pay for. The body is made of cheap plastic. The supplied screws are not outdoor screws, so you should supply your own outdoor screws. Unfortunately my outdoor screws are not black, so they do stand out. After the first rain storm, the first few days after having bought these, I took this picture showing how the heads of the supplied screws are rusting. The amount of light supplied makes it more of a beacon than a real light source. You know there's something there, but it doesn't light anything up. I like that the AA rechargable battery that comes with it can be replaced if it wears out.

These post caps were a great value. Instalation was easy. They fit snug on the posts, no screws were necessary. They enhanced the beauty of our deck. Our last post caps were pressure treated pine and warped within a couple years. They were more than twice the cost of these. I did not purchase these for the light, but the solar lights are an added bonus. They are very pretty at night and work as expected.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rivieraneo GREAT ACCENT LIGHTING FOR DECKS OR FENCING!!!
I purchased these lights in exchange for reflectors to accent my new ranch style horse fence. Be warned, as past reviewers have noted, THESE LIGHTS WILL NOT FIT COMPOSITE OR VINYL FENCING POST, I ended up adapting these lights to my composite fence by cutting a 2x6 to fit the 3 7/8ish mounting sleeve of the lights. The lights are made of decent plastic and the top halves twist off giving you easy access to replace the batteries in them for maintenance.

I have to say these solar lights put the finishing touch on our new deck. I love the price and the look. Since they where so inexpensive we where able to buy 18 of them since we needed 14 to complete the deck and a few spares in case mother nature is hard on them. I think they are so nice night or day that even if the units failed to light they would still complete the look of our deck. So far they work great and look great too.

All I can say is wow. I bought 15 of these 5/11/2012 and after all this time one quit working. and i'am glad to see I can still get them from home depot. you can't beat the price and yes it's not the most exspencive, but I think it's better than the best. Still useing the same batterys that came with them, but I do take them out in winter because of short day light.

While they don't put out much light, they were great as an accent on the new fence.

I read all the reviews and bought these lights knowing they were more for show than actual light value. One good point with these lights is they have a AA rechargable battery in them. They did what I was expecting the first night. I did get to thinking about the make up of them, "how to produce more light?" They have a mirror like bottom that the light reflects off of, but under the lid is black. So I took the tops off (disassembly very easy) and added a layer of heavy duty tin foil and put the tops back on, puff, more light! So with a little effort they are a good little light for the price. "Note", add a piece of clear tape over the knotch holes before putting the tops back on the base, keeps you from tearing the foil.
