Do you provide spacers for either a 4x4 post, or a 5 x 5 post, or do you specify upon ordering what size post is being supported.

Answer:
Hi Karen - No, the brackets are not included with the post install kit, instead the brackets come with hand rail kits. Hope this helps, we'd love to see photos on your project once completed.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.3 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent post. Had the old style before but these new ones are much better. Not sure why the other people had such a hard time installing the post. You do have to drill pilot holes in the actual post before trying to screw the self tapping screws in through the sleeve but if you get the correct drill bit for the size of the self tapping screws, they will screw in with no trouble. I use a standard Dewalt battery drill and no problems. As for the steel being very hard to drill through, I used standard Carbide Metal bits and was no problem. ( Note- Most people don't know how to drill through metal properly. The trick is slow to medium speed with heavy pushing pressure. When you turn that bit FAST, you heat up the bit cutting surface and it looses it's temper and will become dull immediately. Surprise - No more holes ! I definitely like this new style post better. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Avoid at all cost Absolutely the worst posts to work with. I had to use titanium coated drill bits to drill through the metal post which with the long screws is essential. I tried to use the Veranda line bracket kits with the white vinyl coated heads on the screws – forget it. They either broke or twisted off or the heads kept rounding out. I purchased two separate boxes of stainless steel #10 screws from Fastenal and one from True Value hardware thinking it was the screws but they did the same thing. However the Chinese tempered the steel post or they may have used a lot of chromium in it, it’s hard to drill with standard steel high speed drills and screws do not easily thread through it. Suggest you stay away from these kits. July 14, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Appears to be a good concept - to be determined Disappointed that this "kit" contained no hardware or set screws. Apparently I'm not the only one with this issue. I've searched through the instructions, watched the video, googled the correct hardware required for install and still no definate answers. Emailed the Veranda company - we shall see if I get a reply. Last option is to take the post with me to the store to find the correct set screws and correct thread bolts. May 5, 2014
