Customer Questions & Answers

Can I split and have 2 , 10 foot by 20 foot by 10 foot high

20 FT. W X 20 FT. L X 10 FT. H STEEL CARPORT WITH TRUSS BRACING I would like to build two 10 foot by 20 foot with a 5 foot between the two, I would be using a concrete foundation to bolt each to. Would this be possible by ordering and extra set of tubing frame. Jack

Not with the Bottom rail, That consist of 3 pieces and only adds up to be 18' that I'm upset about. It should add up to 20', But they are allowing the 11" over hang of roofing on front and back to add up to the 20'

The shipping detail says that it can only be sent to a home, but that a forklift is required to unload it from the truck. Who has fork lifts at home?

Asked by: Brad
I had forks for my front end loader, But ask for a flat bed to unload, The freight company (ABF) had there on fork lift. in an inclosed trailer

Is it 10' high to the cross member?

Just wondering how high the cross member is from the ground?
Asked by: DIYguy
Yes, it is 10' to the cross member if you use the 3' extensions that come with the package. If you have a camper this is probably the way you should go. For my use I opted for a lower profile carport and omitted the 3' frame extensions. This puts the cross member at 7 feet. As we have a lot of wind where I live, the lower profile has less wind loading.

20 ft. W x 20 ft. L x 10 ft. H Steel Carport with Truss Bracing is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 9.

However, customer service is lacking sorely. For starters, the initial deliveryman did not have the correct phone number for delivery so they shipped our delivery backwards and we waited 3-4 additional weeks. Now that we received it, Home Depot third party delivery shorted us two panels so we still cannot finish our job. They said it would be shipped in 48 hours and that was last week...we are still waiting.

However, the delivery company sent one man with only a pallet Jack to unload 1200 pounds. He barely got it out of the truck and could not place the shipment where we wanted it. My husband and son had to disassemble everything to get it where we needed it. A forklift would have resolved the issue. That poor driver just about killed himself trying to do the job.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality Carport Fairly easy to assemble. I did it myself alone with the aid of a small Kubota tractor to lift and position the assembled trusses. The only negative that I can find is that the instructions could be better. The manual addresses several models (sizes) in the assembly instructions so step-by-step is confusing. I finally just read through the whole manual and crossed out all info that did not pertain to my particular model. After that assembly went quite smoothly. Also the manual and and print is too small to read easily. Paper is not that expensive. With an improved manual, my "Overall Rating" would have been Excellent. The product itself is great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Short The only problem I have is that they say 20' depth. When the side walls are only 18' and they have an over hang of sheet metal 11" on front and back of roof to say 20' depth

Rated 5 out of 5 by from solid built carport This is a strong solid built carport when finished. Its exactly what the picture shows and what I envisioned the finished product to be...I need 2 so I will definetly be ordering another real soon. Lightning fast shipping. They told me a month and it was there in a week. My only gripe is the unit I ordered was off by 2 ft and they claimed thats how they do it. I ordered a 20' x 20' and got a 20' x 18' .. You hang the siding over a foot on each end and that gives it a 20' opening but the frame is really 18'. And this is misleading. I ordered a 20 x 20 and really got a 20 x 18.....kinda rips you off a bit of 2 feet...Other than that---home depot came through with fast shipping and quality product... Thank you so much......Rick J in Boise

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick and efficient carport/barn Saw this product in the Home Depo parking lot which is exactly what I was looking for without welding and constructing my own pipe barn. Besides erecting the cross frame framework, the project was complete by me alone without difficulties.
