Answer:
Our tiles lay flat without using tape and the vacuum hasn't lifted them. The only exception is small filler pieces at the edge of the room. You should tape those.

As long as you use carpet tape or spray adhesive the tiles should not lift when vacuuming.

I used it on a plywood floor and it worked out exceedingly well. IT was very easy to place and it stays down very well, at least so far. It has only been in place for about a month so far but is an outstanding product so far.

I used the scraps to cover a plywood landing and they worked just fine. I'd just sweep and vacuum the area you're covering right before you do so the floor is as clean as possible.

There is double sided tape on the back on the tiles, so if double sided tape sticks to plywood you are good.

You can remove these tiles individually, but you'll need to reapply adhesive if you remove the tiles repeatedly.
We carry spray adhesive or carpet tape that can easily give the tiles a new tack.

How easily does tape remove from hardwood/laminate flooring?

I want to put these in a rented unit that has laminate (fake hardwood) floors. I'll want my security deposit back in the end, so I want to know that the tape can come up easily without harming the floor underneath.

you shouldn't run into any problems here. Try using the Goo Gone which is surface safe, but always always always test on a small area just to be sure.

You don't need to use the tape to install these. I would leave the tape unpeeled if I were installing them over a laminate floor. They are pretty heavy and won't move around underfoot.

The adhesive tape on the back of tiles will leave a small amount of residue; however, it can be easily removed by using a household cleaning product. Choose a non-abrasive cleaning product.

The tiles will come up easily, however there will be a little sticky residue left over from the tape on the floor. It can be removed using Goo-Gone, which shouldn't hurt the floor but test some first in an inconspicuous place first. Hope this helps.

Assorted Pattern Commercial Peel and Stick 2 ft. x 2 ft. Carpet Tile (10 Tiles/Case) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 228.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like advertised. Easy installation! Easy to install. Used a box of carpet adhesive tape for added measure. Bought 5 boxes. Only used 4. EVERY tile was a different pattern/color. Only one bright color tile out of all. Seems very sturdy and looks great.

We purchased six boxes to carpet our basement. We were able to do it easily ourselves and it looks awesome. There were many different types of tiles, though we received more of some than others. There was a good assortment of colors and patterns, though not as many bright, colorful tiles as I was hoping for. Overall we are very happy with it and would definitely recommend. Cons: -If you need to cut some tiles, like we did, you lose some of the sticky adhesive pads that are put on the tiles. We had to use a spray adhesive in order for it to stay put. -Not all the tiles are the same depth, it's not a HUGE discrepancy and it doesn't really bother us but it may bother others.

Out of 8 boxes there was only one carpet tile that was a little thinner and one that was a little thicker than all the rest. We used them at the edge and it was not a problem. We got a nice assortment. Used a transition strip where the carpet tile met ceramic and it worked perfectly. Installation was not that hard, even for 60-70 year olds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best overall value in carpet tile. Simply put, we were looking for something fun to put on the floor of a rather large children's play room. Room was in a basement near a utility room, on somewhat uneven concrete. Other carpet tiles can be double the price of these. These are obviously remnants cut into tiles by the manufacturer and they are commercial type carpet, so think office building floor, waiting room, etc. The variability in color and texture was beyond acceptable. We needed about 8 boxes to do our floor and bought 5 in store from our local HD and bought three online to help ensure plenty of variety. I think we had two tiles that were repeated. Thickness is slightly variable but our floor was uneven anyway. Kids love the fun colors. We loved price and overall value. The amount of tape on the back was a little small for my wants in an area with children so we did go through two rolls of carpet tape adding extra on the backs to ensure our kids won't easily rough up the floor. (Only Adding 10 bucks to overall project cost.)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Carpet Tiles Used for a playroom, the "peel and stick" is not what I thought it would be. It was just 5 small pieces of double sided tape. Colors were all dark. Worked well for what I used it for, but wouldn't recommend for a heavily used area(living room/bedroom)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not as advertised What was most upsetting is that none of the bright colors you see are included in seven different boxes we orders we received one bright blue the rest were gray. Nice patterns and quality but not what is advertised.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product has exceeded my wildest dreams! I have used it in 3 of our rooms and 2 of my daughte... This product has exceeded my wildest dreams! I have used it in 3 of our rooms and 2 of my daughter's so far. And I will be using it for 3 more rooms. I applied it to laminate flooring I had grown to hate because of maintenance. I left a border of the laminate so I didn't have to trim the tiles in those rooms. I have cats and the cats are in heaven because they think they have wall-to-wall scratching surfaces now! Yet the tiles remain in place and show no evidence of wear from the scratching. They vacuum beautifully - I was sick of litter surrounding each litter box on the laminate. One of my daughter's cats had ruined almost every corner where her wall-to-wall carpet was. When I took up her bedroom carpet, I was appalled at the stains visible from the back side and the pad was self-destructing into powder. The cat has yet to start working on the carpet tiles. The backing on the carpet tiles is heavy and no doubt will prevent moisture from seeping through. I started out adding the extra tape to almost every tile but later decided to only add more tape if I see a tile not lying flat. My daughter uses a walker and wheelchair but the tiles are staying in place beautifully. She slipped and fell last year after mopping her laminate floors, which is why I investigated another option for her flooring. I was able to slide even heavy furniture across the installed tiles with no problem whatsoever. I've done all of the installation myself and I'm close to 70! The carpet tape ordered separately should be applied to the carpet tile, not the floor. And I found putting the tape on the tile and then cutting with an exacto knife before pulling the backing off works best. I used scissors to cut the tape when doing the first room and don't recommend that - getting tape goo off the scissors was a job. After I had completed the first room, I noticed the same carpet tiles were used for the flooring where I went for physical therapy. It is also part of the flooring at the airport. I love that I can replace just one tile if something disastrous happens. I waited to submit my review until after I placed my last order so as to make sure it will be available! Total of 30 boxes between our house and my daughter's!
