HOW MANY VERTIAL BLINDS FOR A 53" BALI RAIL

Asked by: Anonymous
The answer that a 9-pak will cover 22" is incorrect...28" is more like it! I just installed the 78" version of the BALI headrail and it came with 25 hangers...that's roughly 3.12" coverage per louver. So your 53" headrail should come with only 17 hangers...that's TWO 9-paks of louvers perfectly with one left over for the valance!

If i purchase a Bali 53in head rail and have it delivered to the store, how can i have it cut down to 40" and where?

Asked by: Anonymous
Yes - but make sure they remove the extra slats hangars so you can fully close the remaining blinds. The store should be able to cut it down okay with the machines they have.

How short can the rail be cut down?

I have a bay window consisting of three windows. The two end windows are only 9 or 10 inches wide. I want vertical blinds on the middle window and would like a similar treatment on the side windows.
Asked by: Tron
Hello: Thank you for your question. The minimum cut down width is 13" for this product type. We suggest to discuss special ordering a blind with your local Home Depot to obtain the size you require.

Is this Vertical Blind Head rail made of metal or plastic?

I had a roof leak and the head rail was damaged and now needs replacing. I purchased 13 vertical headrails 9 years ago. The head rails are made of a lightweight metal (perhaps aluminum). I read the review from Hesam saying "cheap plastic quality". Is he referring to the headrail or the vertical blinds themselves. The blinds I have are very heavy PVC like plastic s-curve blinds. They are not the replacement clam shell ones that can be purchased at the Home Depot Store. My blinds are very heavy and hang beautifully. I just want to make sure the actual replacement headrails are not plastic. On my headrails the fingers that the blinds are popped on and attached to are plastic but the headrail body is a lightweight metaI. Thanking you in advance for your response, DM

The head rail is metal along with the center control rod. The holder and gear for the blinds is plastic.

Does Home Depot replace Bali vertical blind headrails if the clips broke off and I am not the original owner?

Asked by: verticalgirl
Hello: Thank you for your question. The track clips are replaceable; however, a whole track is not replaceable without the proof of purchase. A new track would need to be purchased. For replacement parts, please call customer service at 800-221-6352 Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 7:00 pm EST.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wish I'd Purchased Two Years Ago I purchased a low quality faux wood vertical blind online for my slider a couple of years after building our house in 2009. It looked nice, but the slats broke at the top and the plastic accordion-type sliding mechanism kept breaking in places. I thought I would have to replace the entire thing with a more expensive, better quality blind when I came across this rail replacement. Easy to put up, we had to do slight modification to make the faux wood cove work, but it's so much easier to use with less moving parts and no cords to deal with. Price is excellent for what you get. I also purchased stick-on slat tabs to repair where they broke at the connection report. It's like a new blind.

My husband was able to put these up and attach the clips for the cover easily enough. The rail and brackets were as pictured in the advertisement. He is a little concerned that the clips may not be too durable. For now our existing 3 1/2 " fabric vertical blinds snapped right in and hang nicely. The rails slide nicely and the slats turn easily with the wands. This was a good way to extend the life of our existing blinds. I would have given them a 4 star rating but I haven't had them long enough to know how durable they are.

Valence is flimsy and easily broken. Must use extreme care when operating so as not to bend the rod. Rotating clips that hold the louvers are easily broken. We bought three of these for our vacation house. All three suffered breakages in the clips within the first 3 months of use. One unit completely fell apart dumping the louvers on the floor while trying to open them. The louvers themselves are nice enough, but without a dependable system for hanging and operating them, they are worthless.

Home Depot was the only store that I could find the right size head rail for my slider door. It was ordered and delivered on time with no damage. I went to the local HD to pick out the louvers for the rail, brought them home and they slipped into the brackets with ease. When installing them be sure your hear a "click' to be sure they're in correctly. Great purchase and I would certainly recommend to anyone.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good news and bad news Bought two of these to replace two 24-year-old vertical blind units on that had begun to wear out and malfunction. These are used on sliding glass doors from bedrooms to a deck, so they get opened and closed quite a bit. These units have a very simple mechanism compared to the old ones. They slide to open and close side to side just by pulling on the same wand that turns the vanes to open and close them--similar to some hotel curtains. Simple and easy to operate compared to other styles that use chains and cords to open and close. However, these are made of much lighter material than the old ones and they seem rather flimsy. I hope they last. The vanes supplied with them are also very thin and light compared to the old ones, so one must be very careful installing them so as not to tear the material at the top where it clips into the sliding holders on the rail. Everything was cut to size accurately.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from had cut to size and love it Had it cut to size yesterday at the store and love how it looks. I had an old rail system that was an outside mount with a cord that was hard to operate and had some busted clips. Mounted the new one inside to give it that custom look. Love how it looks. I saved my old custom valance tho and will be putting it back once i update the fabric on it to something more modern.
