Generally I have always used 32 watt , T8 bulbs and they never got nowhere near as warm as the T5 bulbs in this fixture. Is normal for the T5 High Output bulbs to get so warm to almost hot?

2 ft. 4-Bulb T5 High Output Copper Fluorescent Grow Light Fixture is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 55.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good light so far Bought this for my girlfriend as her houseplants do not get a lot of the sun and were doing poorly. This helped out a lot. Working good. No issues with ballasts or bulbs burning out. Its in a well ventilated room so it does not get too hot. As I read other post with people having that issue. Came to my house packaged well with no damage. Good light for the money. Still wonder why the black fixture cost more than the copper. I think the copper colored one looks better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bright Idea HD's light is the same as the ones in hydroponic store for nearly half the cost of some stores. Light works great, it is cooler than MH/HPS lights and uses a lost less electricity.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from don't waste your money I bought this and it actually worked for a few hours. Don't know if the ballast burned up or the bulbs burnt out but I am returning it for a full refund. I am very disappointed and disgusted at the same time. The price was right but this is definitely an inferior product. Will try to find something else.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointment After only two days of operation, one ballast burned out. I like the design , but had so much trouble trying to get replacement parts, just went ahead and paid out of pocket.for parts. Light sockets are of poor quality, because push in type wire holders are loose, which will cause future problems burning out same. If you buy one, buy a small fan to keep fixture cool!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It does not work with GFCI outlets It gives a fair amount of light and it definitely helps all seedlings grow. The problem is that it trips all GFCI protected receptacles (GFCI receptacles or receptacles connected to GFCI circuit breakers). We bought three pieces and all them do the same thing. This is not acceptable. This product is used in a wet environment and we should be able to use with GFCI.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It was exactly what I wanted I needed a light fixture for my indoor plants and this was perfect to hang under a shelf. It provides a lot of light and I can use it with either two or four lights switched on.
