Do i need to drill more drainage holes?

There are 3 half inch holes in the bottom of the bag, but the water does not seem to drain well. I can see water dripping down from the soil when i lift the bag even after several hours of watering. Did you have to drill more holes? I did not put gravel at the bottom of the bag, just soil and planted potatoes 2 weeks back.
Asked by: DJ
You could drill more holes if the water is not draining to your liking but please be cautious to avoid destroying the planter itself.

Customer Reviews

20 in. Plastic Potato Planter Raised Bed (2-Pack) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from What does "2-Pack" mean? When I ordered this, I wasn't sure what "2-pack" meant. The product overview says "This deep collapsible planter ..." with no indication of more than one. The specification doesn't say anything about more than one either. I hoped "2-pack" meant two bags. When I received it, looking at the package, I still wasn't sure because it says 2 PCS on the package. I thought "uh oh", two pieces must mean the bag and the Velcro door. Well, there were two bags inside, woohoo! I think both the on-line product description and the product package could be a little more clear for those who don't buy things based on hoping for the best like I did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent!!! I used these for potatoes and sweet potatoes so far. They are wonderful-easy to move and plenty deep enough for any plant. The side flaps are extremely convenient for harvesting without disturbing the rest of the plant...and yes, I've already harvested some potatoes. I put two plants per bag and they've had plenty of room to grow. Can't think of a single downside, except that I didn't order enough of them. I plan on using them for many years to come...not just for potatoes, but also tomatoes, squash, and some herbs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 1st timer I have grown potato's in a pot before, this is the first time this way. I Live in NM at about 7200 ft so the growing season just started here. I just planted on 5/19 and so far so good. With the heat out here I believe I will get a couple of good years out of the material possible more. Seems strong. Arrived on time. Wished I had bought 2.
