I purchased the 5 and 10 gallon bags for a container garden this year. What a mess, I will say that vegees will grow in these but you better not have to move them at all and you need to fill up the bags no less than 4-5 inches from the top. The bags are much flimsier than they appear and they dry out and become brittle very quick. There is no way I could reuse them next year as several have rips and tears in them. The other issue is they are too narrow and tall, would be much better if they were wider at the base and not as tall. If you dont fill them up 4-5 inches from the top you will fight with the bag folding in on itself everytime you water. If you do fill them all the way you are wasting a lot of soil. As I said my plants did grow some atleast in the 10 gallon bags. I put tomatoes and squash in them and the tomatoes grew to about 4 ft tall but dont produce well at all. After many opinions and trying fertilizers and such we have come to the conclusion that they dry out way too fast and soil stays too hot. I put cucumbers and peppers in the 5 gallon with even worse results, I cant keep the cucumbers wet enough even watering twice a day, literally have gotten 1 cucumber out of 5 bags planted. My peppers are just as disappointing, 10 bags 3 varieties and 2 jalapenos so far, plants only grew to about 2 foot tall and never bushed out. I am in North Texas, so maybe these would work in a cooler climate but make sure you fill it where you want it, cause moving is not an option, they will rip and tear easily once filled.

Great alternative for growing . I use those bags for a second year and my plants feel better in bags then in a ground. With a good soil you can plant almost anything.

The holds in the bags are the problem. The picture in the online advertising shows ONLY Two (2) holds per side. But the bags I received had Four (4) per side. They are arranged (2) holds 4" inches from the bag's bottom and (2) holds 2" inches from the bag's bottom per side. The (2) top holds are Great but the lower holds lets the water leak out. So for my plants that need a lot of watering, I had to tape over the lower holds giving the bag a 2" inches water line when filled with soil. Then they work perfect. I don't understand why they added the lower (2) holds on each side of the bags. This is not what the product looks like in the online advertising.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by BeckyC56 Handy container for ALL gardening!
I've been using the 7 gal.bags for the last couple of years, but wanted some a bit smaller. They're handy and convenient, can grow my tomatoes, squash, and beans, and are easy to move around to catch the sun or protect during t-storms.

I got what I wanted, an inexpensive gro-bag for an experiment. Should work well for growing tomatoes in a pot.

Cheap and flimsy, I am disappointed. Costs too much to return. I won't be shopping Home Depot online again.
