Answer:
Doubtful. The cfm of this combo is sufficient to move air to circulate but not powerful enough to exchange warm/cool air. Perhaps a larger fan would work for you.

Answer:
Yes. Just place it and vent it at the top of the tent. my new lights were raising the temp in my tent to close to 100 degrees, installed the fan and ducting and it dropped to 75 in minutes.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Must Have for Indoor Growing A couple years ago I bought an indoor grow tent - 8 x 8 x 4 ft - black canvas exterior with mylar interior - to transition citrus trees over winter and to start seedlings. I picked the Viagrow carbon filter combo to help reduce undesirable organic smells and circulate air from the grow tent with the inline fan. Set up was quick and easy - a couple lengths of velcro tape to hang the carbon filter/fan and a little aluminum tape to connect a length of 4" duct. I now have the best of both worlds - tropical indoor growing environment without the smells associated with high humidity and growing mediums. The Viagrow combo is an economical smart solution for indoor growing. I haven't run the filter/fan for very long, so I can't speak to the cost of operation. November 3, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This Sucks !!! In A Good Way I have a hollow concrete porch size 8 x 16 feet. I has a room underneath that i use to grow an dry my own tobacco. During the growing and curing process tobacco can get very smelly, I used to use a regular exhaust fan which blew out right by my front door and made it smell by the door and in the house when you opened the door. I installed this inline fan combo filter and was able to use the existing wiring and exhaust pipe. In a matter of seconds there was no longer a stink by my front door. the carbon filter effectively removed all the odor. The fan also runs so quiet you have to hold your hand over the exhaust to make sure its on. Easy installation, quiet, and removes any and all odor.... A great inline exhaust fan for a good price that does what its supposed to October 1, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to use All you need is some 4" ducting and some metallic tape to get this up and running. It's already wired to a plug. No on and off switch, just plug it in and it works. it works best to set it up to have the filter at the intake end not the outlet. A good way to vent heat in a plant tent or greenhouse as well. It eliminates odors and moves a good amount of air for the price. September 27, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Powder room vent This combination fan / filter I am going to be using for 1/2 bathroom/powder room that has no exhaust to the exterior of the building and with the research I've done with carbon filters this will do the trick by scrubbing the sometimes fowl air that is generated in a toilet area. As I'm typing this I thought this might also work well if you have cats and their litter box room. Installation is as easy as it gets just plug it in! September 26, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Qaulity product When we plugged it in there was not as much air coming out of the filter as expected. We have not used it yet, so we do not know how much it will filter the air. If we can come back after we use it, I will update the review. January 13, 2013
