Answer:
Yes, as long as you do not intend to try to lift multiple pots full of dirt. They would do fine for drainage.

They are great for indoor and outdoor small light weight seedling containers to keep water from draining on to the ground. It's important to be careful picking them up with seedling pots in them or with dirt and seedling in them because they can bend and crack. So pick them up from the center and support them with a hand under the flat.
If you try to use them for larger flower pots first place the flat where you want it. Them place the pots in them. Also for larger flower pots, take all the pots out of the flat before picking up the flat. Read Less

Hi Anonymous,
The bottom of the planter is 21 inches X 10.75 inches. This would make if just right for your planter box.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Medium Weight Flats have no drain holes. Had trouble finding substantial ones that DID. So hopefully they will work for my purpose. Have not used them yet, but they are good quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 10 Packs are for those who know what they are doing these trays are the standard for the industry and are perfect for home use with a little instruction. Most professionals will tell you that you need a flat tray (like a baking sheet) underneath. these are perfect for growing micro-greens also. To grow micro-greens fill half way with potting soil mix and sprinkle desired micro-greens seed that has been soaked and drained for 12 hours- directly on top. Now place wet news paper on top and mist... ( important- you want the paper damp only-do not soak the potting soil) so mist the paper daily until the sprouts lift the paper up by about an inch before removing the paper top (the paper's weight is important to promote strong seedlings!) When they get close to cutting size then move them to a sunny spot to green up for just a day or two before harvesting. Cut with scissors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good for the price. I almost didn't buy these because of a couple of reviews saying they were flimsy. I've bought the other trays in the store that has the 72 cell insert in it. Those trays are flimsy, these are thicker and turned out to be just what I was looking for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST I EVER USED!!!! Great price & THE BEST ONES I EVER BOUGHT!!! STURDY - NOT cheap flimsy type. You still need to support the bottom if you are carrying them with weight in them BUT the are maybe 3 or so times thicker & stronger than the ones I bought even years ago at FINE garden centers! PLUS LESS EXPENSIVE than I've ever paid for the cheaper version!!! GREAT DEAL ALL AROUND!!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Standard Flat 10 pack +1 stars for value because I found the flats during an out of season time. +1 stars for value because I found the flats on the Home Depot website. +1 star for value because I was able to buy a small amount of flat without having to purchase 100's of them at one time. -2 stars for value because the flats are expensive at a $1.50 each since wholesalers sell the flats for about $0.50 each and they are likely each manufactured for around $0.01 to $0.05 or less. +2 stars for quality because the flats were delivered to a Home Depot store for pick-up without shipping costs. +2 stars for quality because the flats are usable and functional. -1 star for quality because some of the flat are slightly damaged.
