Product Overview

The Victor Electronic Mouse Trap delivers a high-voltage shock to eliminate mice in less than 5 seconds. Killing up to 100 mice per set of batteries (4AA), this trap is a great value. Easy to use, the trap is simply baited, placed against the wall and turned on. The trap uses advanced smart circuit technology to sense when a rodent enters the units. Once the rodent is inside, the system delivers a humane, high-voltage shock to effectively kill the mouse. A green light blinks to indicate capture and a red light blinks to indicate low batteries. Rodents can then be dumped directly into the trash for no-touch, no-view mouse control. The trap features a built-in safety switch that automatically deactivates the trap whenever its door is open. Additionally, its unique tunnel design prevents kids and pets from reaching into the trap. This patented tunnel design also prevents any escapes by holding mice in place over the electrified plates. Safe for use anywhere in the home, Victor Electronic Mouse Traps can be used for years to ensure effective mouse control.

Don't think it will. The entrance and inside of the trap is likely too small for a chipmunk. A rat trap may work.

I don't believe they would quite fit in there, and the electrodes that provide the shock are up the far end of the tunnel.

the entry is really small- a mouse can fit in but only a VERY small animal could possibly squeeze a paw inside.

Answer:
Shock plates are enclosed within the trap. Unless your dog is small enough to physically crawl into the trap i.e. you have a dog the size of a mouse, then fido is in no danger.

Answer:
If your dog can open the access door, it may be harmful. But IMO I think you'll have no worries. But I wouldn't put it somewhere the dog can get at it, because you bait it with peanut butter and dogs love that as much as mice. Keep the dog out of the area where the trap is set up.

It doesn't require much at all to attract them. Be careful not to get any on the metal electrode plates, as bridging them will cause the trap to not function.

I put less than half a teaspoon, you don't need much, and I have only had to put more on once because the ants ate it all! I got at least 5 with the single application of peanut butter.

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 328 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Snap trap failed twice- this device worked! Surprise mouse in the kitchen @ breakfast. Went downstairs to get a snap trap (which always works for us) and set it up by the stove. A couple minutes later the mouse came out and proceeded to dine on the peanut butter. As the mouse was so tiny it didn't set the trap off. The mouse came out again and put her paws on the paddle and finished off the peanut butter. YIKES- I needed "Plan B". I left the kitchen lights on full power in hopes it would keep the mouse under the stove and went to HD to pick up 2 electronic traps (based on the positive reviews). I set 2 electronic traps along the baseboard by the stove and in 10 minutes I had the tiny mouse. Lucky she was still hungry ;0). I'll now use the electronic traps in finished areas as its a much cleaner set up than the snap traps. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Product hands down Live in Up State NY, this year we are having problems with deer mice. Bought this unit at a local HD. Second day the light was blinking meaning Victor Trap had successfully done it's job, and boy what a joy. All you have to do put some good batteries, and peanut butter. Third day now and 3 are in mice heaven. Great Product. July 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mouser Poison, sticky traps and mechanical traps were not a consideration with pets in the area. This trap was found to be safe and effective. Bait was a small piece of Reese's peanut butter cup folded in a small piece of paper towel and taped with a piece of masking tape to the back wall of the trap as per directions. No mess in trap. Placed baited trap as per directions resulting in first kill on the first night. Had to use a stick to remove the mouse from the trap as it was wedged in place in the traps maze design. Not really a problem. Reset the trap and back in place waiting for the relatives. August 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It works!!!! I set this trap in my apartment near the heat vent and within 2 days I got a green blinking light with a dead little guy inside. Just dumped him and reset it, didn't even have to see it!!!! August 20, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by disappointed Highly anticipated trying this out and finally putting an end to the mouse colony. Alas they aren't interested. I tried all the tricks and techniques noted in these reviews. Total bummer and hate to say waste of money. August 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Two down... how many to go? In our first evening caught two mice by the wee hours of the morning. Silent, effective, same trap both times (wiped down between, of course) so it matters the bait, but also WHERE you put it. Placed it in the drawer under our oven - a known route littered with mouse droppings. Both mice D-E-D, dead. Woohoo, didn't have to pay for an exterminator! August 15, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Best mouse trap!! I bought this 2 weeks ago after reading the reviews that said it was amazing. At first I didn't catch a mouse and I was a little disappointed and believed my $20 were wasted. However 2 days later I just opened the trap to find a dead mouse inside. Don't know why but the light wasn't blinking. This happened a few times but the light fixed itself. Now I catch a mouse every other day. This trap has killed 6 mice in 14 days which is not bad at all. It's safe to put anywhere because it's a closed plastic box with a tiny mouse entrance. Opening the box disables the electrocuting system. I really hated the glue traps that I previously used which took up space and stuck to more household items and destroyed them than catching mice. I recommend it to everyone with a house mouse problem. July 27, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by caught one the first night This trap worked the first time. Hopefully it will continue to work. Do dead mice leave a dead scent trail? that would be a problem. 4 stars now, 5 if it keeps working. August 10, 2016
