Customer Reviews

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This product is sturdy and durable and comes at a great price. This dollhouse kit is made by Real Good Toys. I have built 17 dollhouses and they have all been by RGT. The houses are made from durable MDF with milled clapboard. The kit includes everything you need to finish . . . windows, doors, wooden shingles, etc. I donate the houses to children of active duty American soldiers. Some have gone to Camp Lejuene, Fort Hood, Tinker Air Force Base and Fort Sill. These houses are affordable and allow me the opportunity to make my 'personal stamp'. January 19, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy Build -- Great for Beginners I bought the Westville from Home Depot as a holiday gift, and my boyfriend in turn got me this kit as a present. Currently building it when this review was written. The house is made of 3/8" MDF -- good part about it is that it's very sturdy so it can handle playtime by kids. The SLIGHT downside I can see so far is that the more I build the house, the more the house gets heavy in weight (MDF is a bit heavy). Another slight downside is when you paint the exterior (the outside walls are cut to look like it has siding -- MUCH EASIER compared to installing individual wood strips to simulate siding in a dollhouse), you'll have to paint one coat, then sand it before putting another coat of paint if you want a smooth surface. The MDF almost acts like a sponge so you might find yourself applying additional coats. Those are the only two beefs I have so far. Other than that, the parts fit perfectly and assembly is fast. Instructions are clear and there are pictures to help guide you through the process. Plus, the kit includes everything you need to assemble the dollhouse. You just need paint, glue (Tacky Glue is best), brushes, a T-square, ruler, pencil, a sharp knife and some good masking or painter's tape to hold the pieces together while it glues. If you want to try building dollhouses, definitely recommend this kit as a starter. January 9, 2010
