It's just a matter of time. Whether you load this plant stand up with 70lbs or 10lbs, it WILL collapse at the middle shelf in less than a year. The 2nd shelf takes all the stress and is poorly designed to withstand it. Other reviewers must have just gotten theirs or only had it for a fe wmonths. Mine failed after 4 months so I contacted the company. Their customer service was willing to ship out a replacement since it's within the 1 year warranty period. They were so quick to send one out it was like they are completely aware of the issue. However, when I asked to speak with someone regarding the design, they said someone from the design team would email me. We'll see if that ever happens.

Returned the first kit, but found the reordered stand to be just what was needed. Plus this box had instructions and hardware as well as the wood. Not hard to assemble and it works perfectly.

Easy assembly, fit perfectly in chosen area, and the wife has every shelf filled to capacity with her favorite plants.

I bought this stand displaying pots of herbs. It will hold six 12" pots nicely. The wood and workmanship of the stand are beautiful and it was easy to put together. One flaw though: on one of the shelves the bottom front piece was glued to the wrong side of the shelf which resulted in the shelf holes being on the wrong end. Instead of returning (because I like it so much), I drilled holes where they should be. If that had been right in the first place, I would have given it a 5 star rating.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by LaLa I'm very disappointed because (see below)
It IS a pretty plant stand and it was the only tiered plant stand I liked after an internet search. However today, 2 months after I bought it, the same thing happened to one of the shelves that the first reviewer described--one shelf kind of separated and the stand collapsed. I'd love to have another one but after reading the reviews (which I should have done in the first place!) I think it'd be stooopid to buy another one!

Bought for my mom. She used indoors in winter and on her deck in summer. Bought it in May 2012. This week (September 2013) the whole stand collapsed after a rain. All the glued areas on stand separated. I felt terrible since I gave the gift -- most of her planters broke and some plants ruined. Lovely looking piece, but won't last if outdoors.

Found this item cheaper on Amazon, but ordered from Home Depot in case it needed to be returned, as it was a gift. Love the stand, even after my Dad had to drill more holes in it to assemble correctly. Did not place heavy plants on shelves, but had it less than a month and the front piece of the shelf began to seperate from the rest of the shelf. Thankfully Home Depot has a great return policy.
