Being a new home owner I was not expecting the results I got from the Vigoro Weed and Feed. The problem was I didn't buy enough to do the whole lawn but never figured it would make that much difference. As you can see from the picture, it makes a huge difference! The dark green areas are the part of the lawn that got the product. If I would have known I would have done a nicer pattern :) It did not kill all of the weeks but it did kill most (I would say 95%) of them. It did an excellent job of fertilization for our Bermuda grass. I would certainly buy this product again. I highly recommend you buy enough to do the whole lawn or if you run out, don't wait long before getting more and doing the rest.

This product turned our lawn brown. I would not recommend at all. Stick with fertilizer only and spot year for weeds.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TexasBoy Kills weeds as advertised
I have used this product several times and it always performs well. There are a couple of key things when using this weed and feed, one make sure you have a calibrated spreader. Yes they are supposed to be calibrated so when you dial in that delivery number, you get the right amount of product on the ground. The second thing is to lightly water your grass BEFORE you apply the weed and feed. This will aid in the product sticking to the weeds. And lastly, do not water for a couple of days and please keep pets off the grass until the water in and the product has penetrated into the soil. Make sure there is no rain forecast either.

If it is not working for you then you are not using it right. You will notice a stalemate in the growth of the lawn at first because the chemicals are working on killing the weeds. Then the feed kicks in to revive the lawn to a nice even green. The cycle takes about 2 to 3 weeks. This is potent stuff so DON'T PUT TO MUCH! There is nothng noticable in the first few days. If your lawn is browning too much-you over applied. Now you better feed it (Miracle Grow) twice a week till it revives.

I applied this fertilizer to my lawn in central TN the morning after a steady evening rain. I followed the instructions on the bag, and the fertilizer had over 48 hours to take effect before the next rainfall. It appears to have killed a few weeds, but it had no effect on the numerous dandelions in my lawn.
On the other hand, the grass appears to have responded well to the nutrients in this fertilizer. Because of that, I will give it another try in the future.
The price is right, but it isn't very effective against weeds.

I have used many products, and am very pleased with this one. It took a couple of weeks for my lawn to balance out, but now I have the best looking lawn on the street. I will continue to use this product. The price is also better than the leading brand.

This fertilizer did a nice job of greening up my lawn but did NOTHING for the weeds. 3 weeks after the application, I'm still pulling weeds and applying Weed B Gon. Maybe it works on most grasses, but it definitely did not work on my centipede grass. I will not buy this product again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mark Works well on the weeds that my dog can't stand
This stuff is pretty expensive so I only put good on value, but it works. Been using it for the last 3 seasons in spring and fall as a weed killer, not so much a fertilizer. My lawn used to have those weeds with the pointy sticklers that stick into your feet and the round sticklers that get into your socks and never come out lol. Well basically my lawn was not human/dog friendly till I started using this. I make sure the dog doesn't get on it for a few days after I put it on but it's worth it. Water the heck out of the lawn for a week and the balls work their way down below where they won't contact the dogs feet. Been able to walk the grass barefooted again and my dog loves it. It's pretty poisonous so use a mechanical spreader or use a mask and some vinyl gloves to spread, but this has been the easiest product for me to get rid of these pesky weeds. Oh and it took about 2 applications, spring and fall to get rid of all these weeds but you'll start seeing the weeds die off after the first application. The seeds that are already in the ground might come up in fall, and then redo the application, they'll be dead by next spring.
