What is the red dye in Vigoro Mulch? What does it do to the soil

I put Vigoro red mulch down wearing gloves, but my arms were bare. After applying I had welts on my arm. The label says there is red dye in the product? What are the components. What does the dye do to the soil when it is leached from rain, etc.

Where is the online MSDS?

Has online warranty document, but no MSDS like most of the other lawn fertilizer products (including Scott's Organic Lawn Fertilizer). Tried to find it using Goggle search, no luck.

15 lb. Organic Lawn and Garden Food is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good product We've previously used the Vigoro potting soil for out herb an and vegetable garden and decided to give the Vigoro Organics Lawn and Garden Mix a try. We've used it on our Onions, Pumpkins, Lettuce and Tomatoes that were planted in previously unkept soil and so far and we've noticed a remarkable difference in their rate of growth and color after about 2 weeks. I can't wait to see the final products

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use in a spredder. I put a bunch in my handheld spreader. Took minutes to do my front yard and my 500 sq ft back lawn area. I also added some to the tomato patch and the raised beds. Front lawn is greener in spots where the sprinkler hits. The photo attached shows the greener grass after application of the fertilizer. Can't keep it cut. It grows so fast we should be cutting twice a week but I don't torture my kids that much. The sack is so big I have enough for several years for my size yard. I'll be using it for a freshly reseeded back yard after I kill as much bermuda as I can over summer and reseed in fall. Unfortunately it also feeds the weeds so I have been careful where I put it. My roses were kind of drab a month or two ago and now they are loaded with blooms. My lavender has taken off and is full of blooms. The tomatoes are blooming already and are becoming nice and bushy. It is organic and that's very important to my organic garden. It melts into the soil very well. Doesn't run off with the sprinkler water like those clay pellet varieties. Can be scratched around specific plants. Has not poisoned our puppy which likes to roll around in the grass.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Minimal odor If you're familiar with organic fertilizers you know that repulsive odors can be a problem. That was my big concern with this selection. So when I opened the bag, I took a short sniff to see what I had. I was relieved and pleased to be greeted with a very mild earthy smell that didn't overwhelm. And once applied, it didn't stink up the yard like can be the case with some of these organics. I'll have to wait and see how it greens up the grass and edit my report later. So I'll give it a "good" rating for now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product that works! All natural/organics ingredients. Covers a lot of space (5000 sq ft.). Very easy to use. I even added some to our succulent and flower garden.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Smelly but the flowers are blooming. This is a natural product and it smells like it. The unpleasant odor only last as long as you are applying it though. Flowers have large ,full blooms and that is what I was after. Besides I am not harming the environment, so future generations can enjoy their world too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Vigoro Organic Lawn & Garden food I received the bag and following directions spread it around my vegetables, rose bushes and hibuscus plants. So far, (it has been one week with almost daily watering only one day of brief rain showers) and haven't truly noticed any difference or improvement. I believe it will most likely improve the growth but will not know for certain until a couple more weeks have passed and at least 4 or 5 days worth of naturl rain showers instead of forced watering via a garden hose.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from average performance My lawn does seem slightly greener than it was before I used this product. But I have never had more wild strawberries or healthier clover in my yard. I'm not sure if that was a result of this product, or the fact that the weed killer product I used at the beginning of the season didn't kill existing weeds. I think it will take a couple of more applications of the organic lawn & garden food before I could see the results to recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It Seems To Be Working. After just 2 weeks my tomato plants that were fed this food were 2 inches taller than those I used as a control. It did not accelerate any tomato production when compared to another food supplement I also tried. The consistency is like cat litter with an oatmeal color, so it is not difficult to tell where you have applied the food, but it floats away when you water the plants. It does say not to apply to the stem of the plant.
