7 lb. Grass Tall Fescue Seed is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks good so far I have a grass problem. I am taking several steps this year to attempt to correct it finally. Every year I lay new seed I hopes that I will not have to the next year. I read about the soil PH potentially being the culprit so I applied some lime and then this seed. This is supposed to be self healing and grow deeper roots to be more resistant to various things happening with the lawn. I have applied the seed a couple of weeks ago ad already have sprouts even though it is still early spring and growing season is really just getting started. I won't be able to tell if it does what I need until later in the season or next year bit with the current growth rate I am hopeful it will.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Planted it just yesterday .... My husband just planted this grass yesterday. It is planted in an area that gets plenty of sunlight but is in a water run off section of the yard so it is hard to get grass to grow there. He used a spreader to cover the area and then put hay over it so the birds would not eat it .... the hay should also help it say put if we get heavy rains. We have used this seed in other areas of our yard and it grows well. Overall, would I purchase again? Yes, and I probably will other other bare spots in the yard.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product I got this grass seed to fill in a dead area in my yard. I tilled and treated the soil and then seeded. after covering the product with hay to protect it from water run off and birds, i waited. in about a week i saw some sprouts then it seemed to come in a little thicker. all of this was done in the early spring and i have mowed it to a height of 2". i feel that this is a quality product and i would recommend it for any residential landscape.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from After about a week, we have sprouting and it is doing well Vigoro products have always been a good choice, and this seems to be no different. It is early, we have had it down for about a week, and we had the perfect weather for it, lots of rain. It got washed into place and started growing already. It is early, we've got only early signs of growth, but we have growth. I'm excited to see it growing so quickly and so well. Each spring I have to put down some seem to cover up patches that happen for different reasons, snow plows, or walking across the grass all winter, etc. Normally I put down seed patch kits and it is hit or miss. With this seed, it seems to be growing in without any help, just put it down, and the rain has kept it moist, and it is doing well. I expect it will continue to grow well, since it has been doing so well so far. For future patches, I will use this seed given the quick grow so far.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from nice size bag I can not contest to the quality of the seed or how fast it grows but I can say that this is a nice size for doing a decent size area and it easy to spread, I used a Scott's turf builder walk behind spreader and did a good job of covering the area desired. I was shocked that it came in such a big sized bag most are 3-5 lbs . which makes this a good value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful green grass! The Vigoro brand lives up to its' name as usual. Great quality! Great results! I have many bare spots in my yard of fescue grass. I thought I would try these seeds in these areas. I planted as directed, covered with straw, watered quite a bit because I am in Georgia and July is very hot and has been very dry. It has been 4 weeks and the grass is growing great. Green and beautiful. If you want beautiful, green, hardy grass, try Vigoro Tall Fescue. See my before and after photos.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst looking 'grass' ever This is tall fescue and is the clumping type of fescue. Much of the seed comes up as the wide blade variety of tall fescue that grows in clumps. These clumps look like crab grass and totally ruined the look of my lawn which was kentucky blue grass. I bought it to fill in thin spots on my lawn because I was advised it germinated quickly and would blend nicely with the blue grass. Turf-type II tall fescue supposedly is fine bladed grass, however, nothing on the bag indicates it is this variety of fescue, though it may be mixture of wide and fine blade varieties. Also, in examining the picture on the bag, you will seed the wide grass blades. I did not look at the picture closely, nor do research of my own before it bought it. I advise you to avoid this grass seed unless you want your lawn to look like a cow pasture. I rated this grass seed '1' star for being green colored.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from grows well in my region This is decent seed that is sold by Home Depot as a Home Depot only product. There is a little bit of noxious seed but its hard to tell unless you read the label and the ingredients part of the label isn't available on Home Depot's website. Don't know why. It should be. I've used this before and it grows. The bottom line is before you buy grass seed know how many hours the area where you want to see gets each day. Fescue if best in shade and light fescue for the shadiest. Unlike blue and rye grasses, fescue isn't rhizomatous but this product states that they are added in. This brand is also good since it doesn't need a lot of water and can handle some drought. Tall fescue has coarser leaves than fine fescue and stands up to wear and tear better but won't be as bunchy and thick as other grasses. However know your area. In my area (Long Island near water) fescue is the best seed to use. Also with fescue make sure you don't mow it lower than 3 inches from the ground.
