Being a new home owner I was not expecting the results I got from the Vigoro Weed and Feed. The problem was I didn't buy enough to do the whole lawn but never figured it would make that much difference. As you can see from the picture, it makes a huge difference! The dark green areas are the part of the lawn that got the product. If I would have known I would have done a nicer pattern :) It did not kill all of the weeks but it did kill most (I would say 95%) of them. It did an excellent job of fertilization for our Bermuda grass. I would certainly buy this product again. I highly recommend you buy enough to do the whole lawn or if you run out, don't wait long before getting more and doing the rest.

I have used this product several times and it always performs well. There are a couple of key things when using this weed and feed, one make sure you have a calibrated spreader. Yes they are supposed to be calibrated so when you dial in that delivery number, you get the right amount of product on the ground. The second thing is to lightly water your grass BEFORE you apply the weed and feed. This will aid in the product sticking to the weeds. And lastly, do not water for a couple of days and please keep pets off the grass until the water in and the product has penetrated into the soil. Make sure there is no rain forecast either.

I applied this fertilizer to my lawn in central TN the morning after a steady evening rain. I followed the instructions on the bag, and the fertilizer had over 48 hours to take effect before the next rainfall. It appears to have killed a few weeds, but it had no effect on the numerous dandelions in my lawn.
On the other hand, the grass appears to have responded well to the nutrients in this fertilizer. Because of that, I will give it another try in the future.
The price is right, but it isn't very effective against weeds.

This product turned our lawn brown. I would not recommend at all. Stick with fertilizer only and spot year for weeds.

This fertilizer did a nice job of greening up my lawn but did NOTHING for the weeds. 3 weeks after the application, I'm still pulling weeds and applying Weed B Gon. Maybe it works on most grasses, but it definitely did not work on my centipede grass. I will not buy this product again.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by JBga Does NOT work the first time so I'm getting my money back!
Tried to save a little money this year by not using Scotts Weed n Feed (Approx $50 for our 15,000 Sq'). Unfortunately, I purchased the Vigoro Weed & Feed product while shopping at my favorite store - Home Depot. It stated on the front, "Works the first time or your money back." Over 3 weeks now and the weeds are thriving, grass is a little greener. Common dandelions, chicory & thistle are our most common weed (very easily destroyed by now with Scott's Weed N Feed). It's a shame I wasted all the hours preparing, spreading then a couple days later watering the lawn. I'm sending my receipt and proof of purchase tomorrow morning. Hopefully my refund will arrive in time for me to purchase some kind of spray weed killer by the end of June. JB

I decided to try this product instead of Scotts, I ended up with actually more weeds then I have had in years. I even tried to apply it 2 times burning the grass a bit - however the weeds never died. I have never had this much problem with Scotts products. As for greening the lawn it never did that. Now the company did send me a rebate for the national average price of the product - which is lower then I paid, but still got some rebate. Now to see if i can fix my lawn - good thing for Scott's customer care.

I put down two bags of Vigoro Weed & Feed on about 5,000 square foot front yard that is full of wild violets, creeping charlie, clover and dandelions. It did a pretty decent job knocking back all of the weeds but after two weeks it does not appear to have killed everything completely. I am going to try spraying WeedBGon on those that remain. It did make the grass noticeably greener, but I think I will try a different brand next time around.
