Customer Questions & Answers

can 2 pieces be mended together without a post?

Do you have a diagram of how posts attach? as well as above question.
Asked by: Jonathan
No, a post must be used between each section. If you have a run that requires more than one section but is not as long as two full sections, use two sections with a post between them and cut the two sections down equally to make the railing look even. You can remove the upright sections to make it look right.

How do I attach the stair rail to the post, if the down stairs angle is not a 45 degree angle off the post-my is wider. Is there an adjustable hinge?

This is regarding Village Smith Metropolian stair rail panel MR450 attaching to US Door and Fence panel FP236PUS.
Asked by: Linda
The connectors can be bent to any angle as can the railing sections, then just mark and cut the riling sections to fit.

1-1/4 in. No-Drill Connectors is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Right Part, Wrong Size. Made it fit. The part was correct for the old railing I was repairing, but too wide as I needed a 1 inch flange. As I did not find that size (anywhere), I choose to order and cut it down. Once modified and painted the part was installed in just a couple minutes and fit perfectly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Handrail hardware. Well designed and easy to use, the two negatives are the base mounts, you need to use a box wrench to finishing tightening down the bolts . The base cut outs didn't have enough room for standard socket to fit and tighten all the way down . The other negative was the cost of the hardware . The product looks excellent and was very well-designed except for the base mounts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from All pieced worked well together I ordered all of the pieces needed to construct a short railing for my back steps. All of the pieces worked well together and created an attractive railing. The brackets bent for making a slanted or sloped railing possible. The only concern I do have is the ability of the coated finish to deter rust. Pros: Easy to Install, Easy to Use, Easy to Work With, Economical, Great Value Cons: may rust if exposed to prolonged weather exposure
