If the stone cracks go to Home Depot and get two #104 SS clamps 5" to 7" diameter. Unscrew each one, then connect them end to end to form a circle. Clamp them lightly, just enough to hold the pieces in place, around the stone. - Or do as I did and clamp it before it cracks :-)

Does it job perfectly, I have had no issues with this stone. Would like to try cooking a pizza on this, but haven't got around to it yet.

Great addition to the Vision ceramic grill. Gives you the option of indirect heat for cooking and/or smoking without over-cooking the side toward the coals. I use it even more than I thought I would.

This is used for smoking meats and fish. It will keep the fire off the smoking item.

Recently purchased this lava stone in hopes it was better than a ceramic style. I was wrong. Within three cooks it cracked not fully yet but very soon. Very disappointed.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by wurdzwurth Essential accessory for Kamado grill
You'll need to devise your own method for inserting or removing this stone while the grill is hot (I use a pair of small crowbars while wearing bbq gloves). Also, if you're using it as a cooking stone, small items that can roll around (like tater tots) can fall over the side and down into the coals if you're not careful, and sometimes even if you are. Those are the only small downsides. As a cooking surface it's second to none. Much like a well-seasoned wok, the stone's surface acquires a patina over time that imparts depths of flavor. Among grillable foods, in every case where I've compared grilling directly on the grates with no stone, vs. cooking directly on the hot stone, I've preferred the taste of the latter. As a heat deflector, well duh, it prevents food from getting scorched when you're using the grill as a baking oven. But you could probably achieve the same effect with an improvised heat resistant disk of any sort. It's as a cooking surface that this accessory really shines.
