This is one of those examples that you get what you pay for. We purchased this for our place of business, they day after we installed it, the top of the unit cracked all the way across the plastic (for no obvious reason). The hot water will not get hot and the cold will not get cold.Not to mention, that even with a filter the water tastes nasty. Find another unit folks, this one is a waste of time, money and space.

I have had water coolers for most of my life. This is the worst one to load. No matter what method i use it spills water everywhere, every time. So if you like water all over your wall, floor, and even in your face when you put a new bottle on, this is the cooler for you. Ive tried with the cap removed, I've tried using the injector deal just like the instructions. Bam water sprays out. Even when the bottle is empty and you try to remove the bottle it takes the whole top with it and guess what, water everywhere.

Was impressed overall, had it for about a year and half and then all of a sudden woke up last sunday morning and found water all over my hard wood floors in kitchen/dining room! Water was leaking/dripping from where the bottom of bottle (neck) rests on the ring or lip. Paid good money for it and cannot find manual for customer service number , or have no idea to take it in
for service?! Any help is appreciated.

We ordered this product online for our office. Paid for professional installation by a plumber....he had to call the manufacturer twice because the unit will not dispense water! After 2 hours of plumber fees, the manufacturer tells us to just return it to the vendor because the product does not work. I would not recommend this product!

The company I work for is on our second replacement Vitapur water dispenser. The first one was missing parts and didn't work out of the box. The second made it about a week. Now, only a couple of months in, the third unit is malfunctioning. The company consists of about a dozen folks and only a few are regular water drinkers, so this machine isn't getting an abnormal amount of use.
Also, and this isn't a deal-breaker, the hot water heater portion of the dispenser takes a few minutes to heat about a mug's worth of water. So one has to push the button for heating to start, walk away, and a few minutes later come back to retrieve about ten ounces of hot water.
Shop around and get a better machine. You'll pay more, but only in the short term.

I would not recommend this if you use the hot water a lot, but I would if that doesn't matter to you. I've had many water coolers, and this was my first Vitapur that I've had for a few months. I drink a lot of hot tea, and found it takes less time to boil water or microwave it than to use the hot-water feature. You have to push the red button, sometimes multiple times of which seems to be getting worse as times goes by, and wait a good while to get the water boiling. I've had other coolers with this same feature, but it never took this long to boil the water. And once heated, the hot water only stays heated less than an hour (and actually gets cooler well before that, despite that the red light is on). I find myself pushing the button whenever I see it off just so it "may" be ready when I need it. I like energy saving devices, but with this unit, it overshadows its purpose. This may be acceptable if it had a cheap price, but at close to $300, it's not.

The spring in the room temp dispenser kept sticking open so we stopped using it and only used the cold. We came home the other day to discover the whole bottle somehow emptied itself and ruined our expensive wood floor.
I strongly suggest you not buy this brand.

You have to press the red hot water button and wait 3 minutes to get the red button to stay on solid then have to slide the child saftey switch while press the dispence button at same time, Its faster to put a cup of water in the microwave only one minute and you have a cup of hot water. save your money and buy the cheap units they dispence hot and cold instantly any time no extra buttons attached.
