Is there a place anywhere near Murfreesboro TN that has one of these in stock. I would like to see it before spending that much money.

Asked by: Katrina
It may still be a little early for our dealers to have stoves out, but Tractor supply, Home Depot, Lowe's, Ace, True Value, or any of our other dealers should be getting ready to put them out. Your can call your local dealer and ask them when they are putting their stoves out. I'm sorry but it is up to them to decide when they put the stove out for the up coming season, so i can not give you a definite.

Can this stove be setup to bring fresh air from outside through vent pipe ? This way stove will not consume hot air from room.

A double vent pipe can be used to bring fresh air from out side into the burn box. The smoke/hot air then goes back outside via the same vent. This will not deplete the hot air from the room.
Asked by: Yasar
The Durango takes an F-6 fresh air kit. It brings fresh air in from the outside and all hot air will exit the smoke pipe.

Do you price match?

Asked by: Griff
Hi Griff, here is a description of our Price Matching policy that can be reviewed on HomeDepot.com (linked below for reference): 'If you find a current lower price on an identical, in-stock item from any local retailer, we will match the price and beat it by 10%* (in-store only, low price guarantee). *Excludes: online purchases, special orders, bid pricing, volume discounts, open-box merchandise, labor and installation, sales tax, rebate and free offers, and typographical errors. Online purchases are subject to Price-Match only.’ Online price matching also would only occur to match new-in-the-box, ready for immediate shipment and identical, in-stock items from our online, retail major competitors and does not apply to in-store items, going-out-of-business sales, or discontinued, clearance, obsolete, seasonal, close-outs, used, open box, displays or distressed merchandise of our competitors. Durango 1,500 sq. ft. Wood-Burning Stove with Blower is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durango 2nd season This stove has its quirks. With a very cold flue you might get smoke inside on startup. Sterno or other non smoking heat source placed inside for 5 to ten minutes gets the flow going. Firewood with more than 20% moisture content will do the same when you open the door, burn down to coal stage before adding wood to avoid any smoke at all escaping.Cured wood in small diameter pieces get a start hot and fast.Uncured wood clogs the wool mat with soot creating flow and smoke issues. Cleaning or replacing the wool restores the flow. With properly cured wood run at proper flue temp it runs great (proper operation and installation),and air intake adjustment on front with practice allows good temp control and a good secondary burn. You can cook and bake all day on it. There isnt an option to use outside air on this model. Heats this 100 plus year old farm house very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Stove Purchased this stove because the old one was not UL listed and the insurance company would not insure it. I am Soooo glad we chose this stove. I have not once in a month had to start a fire from scratch, even when we came home from work and it had been 11 1/2 hours since we had stoked it! There were still nice hot coals in the back. We just stoke it, and turn the dampener down to where it is only 1/4 open, and let it go while we are at work. We live in Michigan and the temps have reached neg 4 already a few nights, we only heat with wood and have done ok so far. I think it would be warmer in the house if we insulated the floor and closed off the open loft, but thats not the stoves fault! Please use caution when loading this stove, there is an excessive amount of heat when the door is opened. We use fire fighting gloves when we are stoking it. Alos, follow the instructions in the manual for stoking it, if you don't have proper airflow around the wood, it will only burn in the front. The window also stays clean! The only drawback is the fan, we run solar for electricity and the fan uses too much power.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value After 4 winters I love this little stove. We have had -20 temps in a 1296 sq ft home and it has kept it warm. It was about at its limit when -20 though. I have 3 wood stoves and this is by far the easiest to light. The deep firebox allows me to fill it up with as much wood as I can stuff and it will burn for about 7-8 hours and keep on heating for another 2 or so. It is the most responsive wood stove I have used. Open the damper and it heats quickly, while closing it will allow for a slow burn with very little creosote buildup. It is fairly efficient and using a thermometer on the stove pipe allows us to keep a good heating fire without having it all go up the flue.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Durango TR008 wood stove My husband purchased this stove and absolutely hate it. We have had it a year. First smoke would barrel out the door when you start the fire, we contacted the manufacturer and they said that was normal and would go away, it never did. Now we have smoke barreling out from somewhere underneath the stove, contacted the manufacturer again, they took the info said someone would call, that was 3 weeks ago. This stove is only good for scrapping!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cheaply made, parts started breaking off within a year, not a good value I have used this stove for about 4 years. First the reburn tubes going across the top of the burn chamber started breaking off when loading firewood. The break off very easily, I think the welds are weak. There are still two that haven't broken, but the other 6 or so have broken off and are now sitting in my shed. Also the fiberglass panel that directs the combustion gasses around the firebox also fell apart and broke off after about a year. The stove still is functional without these broken parts but now it is more like a traditional wood stove where the combustion gasses go straight up the flue. All the features that increased the efficiency by reburning combustion gasses have broken off. Also the door seal has come off twice and I needed to reglue it with stove cement. I bought this stove because it was the cheapest stove I could find in this shape and I guess I learned a lesson about price and quality. Last year, for a different house, I bought a higher quality cast iron stove from denmark for only a few hundred bucks more and I couldn't be happier with that one. I would definitely recommend paying a little more and getting a higher quality stove.
