AVH2 1500-Watt Whole Room Portable Vortex Heater

Frequently Bought Together

Product Overview

The AVH2 whole room heater is not your average space heater. Vornado heaters use vortex energy efficient technology to fully circulate the warm air throughout the room. This is unlike most space heaters that heat the space directly in front of the unit with the heat immediately rising to the ceiling. The AVH2 uses automatic climate control which adjusts the heat output and fan speed higher or lower at all times to maintain the set temperature. This eliminates annoying hot and cold cycles where the heater shuts off allowing the room to cool and then turns back on to heat the room up again. This household heater is whisper-quiet and has advanced safety features to provide worry-free use. Vornado Energy Efficient Heaters are technically different from traditional space heaters. Vornado small heaters are more energy efficient thanks to unique vortex action which circulates heat evenly throughout the room. More efficient air movement saves energy and allows Vornado energy efficient electric heaters to warm an entire room faster than other space heaters. Reduce your electricity bills this winter with a Vornado energy efficient Vortex heater, or share energy efficiency by giving a Vornado electric heater as a gift.

To a certain degree (no pun intended). If it's an average size bedroom of 200 sq Ft or less with some insulation it will probably do a decent job as long as the outside temperatures are above the sub zero range.

It uses only standard electrical outlet, 120v, and it can not heat any room that does not have another source of heat. This heater is for use like under your desk to take the chill off, nothing more

As long as you are not talking about a big room, yes. I have an unheated bathroom in my old house and it works just fine in there. In a big room, this would not work as the only source of heat on a cold day.

This uses a regular outlet. Easy to plug in. Its plug uses the long (neutral) slot, and the shorter (hot) slot, but not the half-round grounding hole.

regular 120v outlet, but it takes 11 amps to run, so you can only run this an say a TV and a few lights on the same breaker. If you plug in say an iron or a vacuum, on the same circuit the circuit breaker will pop

Answer:
There are no Vornado Heaters with three heat settings that also have a thermistor and the climate control. All the Vornado Heaters with three heat settings have a thermostat and all the models with the thermistor/climate control have only two heat settings.

Answer:
The heater can be used as a small fan on the Fan-only setting but it would need to be pointed at you to be effective. It does not move as large a volume of air as would a dedicated fan or air circulator.

AVH2 1500-Watt Whole Room Portable Vortex Heater is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 186.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works for me! I use this product to keep my feet warm on long winter nights on the low setting and sometimes to heat my bedroom up a little more than the rest of the house. The temperature sensor on the unit is not accurate after running for a long period of time, but it is expected. I ran this unit 24/7 to heat 1000 sq ft upstairs to test it's strength and put off an HVAC upgrade. It kept up through November in Kansas City in a raised ranch with newer windows and a poorly insulated attic and basement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Room Heater. This is a great heater for the times in winter it gets down to the 50-60 range. That may not be cold to some but when you are used to 80-90 it is cold. It is on its second year with no problems. I would get another and if it ever slows down of gives problems I would recommend a sealed ball bearing fan to solve the problem. We use lots of fans and the cheep ones with sleeve bearings are the first to fail. Keep them oiled and clean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product / Excellent Price Our northern Minnesota home is warmed by LP gas (which has become increasingly expensive lately). We are retired & the large family room, 14'x26', is our favorite & most used room in the house; however, it WAS a bit chilly. After searching through many heaters, we decided that this type of heater would work well for us at a nominal price. The thermostat in the family room is set @ 60degrees, but with the heater, the room temperature is a pleasant 68degrees. We like the even heating throughout the room & the unit is very quiet. Lastly, we like the appearance & the heater is not tipped over easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST HEATER EVER I used it for the first time last night as the only heat sorce in my 952 SQ. apartment. The outside temp was 28 with wind chill at 24. My living room is were I placed the AVH2 and it was 70 degrees when I woke up and the 2 back bedrooms were at 66. I had the fan on auto and the heat set on low ( 750 Watt ). I am very impressed and highly satisfied. This is one great heater.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice heater We bought this for a cold laundry room (after we had burst pipes in January) and it makes a big difference. Will definitely use it every time the temps get low. Only ever use it on the low setting but it gives out a nice warm air that circulates. My only problem is the cord needs to be longer. Putting it on the floor and plugging it in at counter top height doesn't work. Either have to put it on top of the dryer and not heat from the floor up or place it on the floor where it is much more efficient and we are running it on a heavy duty extension cord which we would rather not do.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from LOVE THIS HEATER This AVH2 heater does everything it promises. I have built-in electrical heating and the cost to warm the house usuing the built-in heater is astronomical. I purchased two of these heaters and as a result, I'm cozy and warm all winter long. I love these heaters. One draw back, the on /off swicth broke on both heaters after a short amount of time. I thought this was most unusual for both swithces to falter. Can some one tell me where I can get the on/off switch fixed. I currently have the switch taped down (jury rigged) to the heater and the product stil works but this is probably dangerous. Aside from the on/off switch, the heater fills the room with warm toasty air.
