Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by wizard1 Vornado surpasses Honeywell in every way.
I initially purchased a Honeywell 9 gallon console humidifier. So noisy, difficult to fill and rather than the large water containers (two) lasting for 24 hours, ran out in less than 12 hours. So I did research and purchased this model. It is quiet, does not scare my pets, easy to fill and if I run it 24 hours, fills in the morning and once again at night. Admittedly, not a whole house unit, but works very well for the master bedroom suite. I am very pleased with this unit and would recommend it.
As an aside, my cats like to sit by this model and take in the moisturized air!

Living in the high desert of New Mexico a humidifier is a necessity. We have tried a number of different models and brands over the years and are extremely pleased with the performance of this product. A plus is that it is made in Kansas.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by sitntil Love this Vornado Evaporative Humidifier
This Vornado Evaporative Humidifier is easy to use and is well constructed. It's easy to fill and the water ( I use city water) lasts 24 hours if you don't have it on high for a long period of time. I live in a 1300 sq ft home and it is humidifying my whole house. I have been battling a sinus infection, ear infection and an infection in my throat for months now and my doctor put me on some heavy duty antibiotics and told me to get a humidifier. So this is the one I bought and it is working great and is giving me a lot of relief. It's also easy to clean. Some people have said that the crevices are hard to clean but if you clean it every week like the directions tell you to then you shouldn't have a problem with that.

My house had been extremely dry this year, and my skin was starting to suffer. After some investigation of possible humidifiers, this one caught my eye. I was looking for something compact with the ability to specify a target humidity and let the device run on automatic. That's exactly what the Evap3 provides. The price is a little high in comparison to other single-room humidifiers, but the less expensive options tend to lack an automatic setting or blow steam into the air rather than room-temperature water vapor.
In general, this device has done a good job of keeping my home office at a more reasonable humidity through a cold winter. Once the room stabilized at an appropriate humidity, the unit needed to be refilled about once a day to hold it at that point. The fan is audible from across the room when on hight (and auto, until it gets close to the target humidity). Once the fan is set to low (or auto, when an appropriate humidity is reached), the fan is still blowing but extremely quiet.

Works well, easy to clean. Wish the tank held more water. Good product. We have used their products in the past which helped us to decide on this one.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by hjoseph7 Does it job but with caveat
This humidifier works pretty well, but you have to work with it. What I mean by that is that re-fill time comes in about 12 hours, sooner if you have it set to high. I have mine set for 35% humidity and I have to re-fill the tank about every 12 hours. Even if I set it to low, it still needs a refill in about 12 hours.
At lower settings you can barely hear the humidifier, but at higher settings it is much noisier than a fan.
I have a Hygrometer in my living room and the settings are about 5 degrees off. For example if I set the Humidifier for 40% Humidity my Hygrometer will read 35%. If I set it to 50% the Hygrometer will read 45%. I'm not sure if it's the Humidifier, Placement, the hygrometer, size of the room or other factors.
With that said I am pretty happy with this humidifier. My pet birds appreciate it to. Last year I must have gone through several bottles of skin lotion because of the dry heat during the winter months. Not this year !
