Answer:
I would say no. Not unless you were going to rig it in some special way with clamps, or other devices.

This is not designed to support 2 mailboxes. It supports a mailbox on top and a newspaper box that can go underneath.

Answer:
The Mailbox Post Kit is for a 4 x 4 so the 4-1/2 will be a little too big to fit.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 12 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fits together well; seems durable Our postal system informed me that I need to install a curbside mailbox as a new resident to my neighborhood. I opted for this post using it with the screw in ground anchor. (See other review for anchor.) Once the anchor was set, this post went together well, and looks nice with my mailbox. The total package was exactly as I envisioned and the install was pretty easy. I had watched a YouTube video about this product and that definitely helped me with the install. August 21, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful, easy to install I purchased this online along with the screw base. It had rained for the past three days so the soil was nice and soft. The hardest part was getting the screw level as the yard next to the street is on a slope. The post was quite easy to install and the directions were easy. I'm a 60 year old woman and didn't even need to use the crowbar to install the screw. Everyone thinks it looks great and that it was professionally installed. May 23, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I love it! If you are somewhat handy you will not have any problems setting this up and contacting to your mailbox. Just remember you will need concrete to anchor it securely to the ground. August 19, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Post mailbox Relatively easy to install with the vortex anchor. Looks nice. September 16, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great product! This post was very easy to install over an existing wood post. The lag screws are not included to attach it to the 4x4 but a quick trip to the hardware store made it easy. The required sizes are noted. Definitely drill holes for the lag screws first. It was up and completed within one hour. Being a 60 year old woman, I did read all the directions and had everything ready before I installed it. It made it very easy. Looks great. Nice details. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good looking and easy to install Needed something that can fit on existing 4x4. Installation was a breeze. I poured some sand to fill up the gap before putting the cap on. I don't think it was necessary because it felt sturdy already. We got the white one and it doesn't look like cheap plastic. Took away one star because it doesn't support mailboxes that require bolts on the base. Hence you are stuck with those that require screws on the side. May 15, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Mailbox Post Pretty basic idea. Super fast installation if you already have the 4x4 post in place (like I do). Classy look and seems extremely sturdy. I had a cheaper home improvement store vinyl post before and it truly sucked. This one is night and day difference over that other one. I think it was a good price ($70) for the quality. May 29, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Post This is a great looking post and easy to install, BUT it doesn't come with lag screws if you are installing over an existing 4x4 post. The bolts that are included only work if you seperately purchase their anchoring system. It was frustrating to have to go to the store to buy parts on Step 1. But now that its up it looks really nice! February 21, 2012
