So so to assemble. I followed the instructions exactly, used the petroleum jelly in all the recommended places. It was difficult to get the handle to draw up the paint. I finally got some in it, and worked on priming it outside while standing in the lawn in case. I finally got it going and went inside to paint. After a couple swipes, I was thinking this might not be too bad. All of a sudden, paint comes gushing out the side. If you tilt it at all, paint gushes out. Fortunately, I was painting before the carpet installers came, because the old carpet was being trashed anyway. I got my Handyman to fiddle with it and the end result is that we threw it in the trash and went back to manual rollers. Good concept, but it needs to go back to the drawing board and reworked before I would consider buying another one.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by missmike great idea, saves time...far from perfect
Right out of the box, couldn't get plunger to work, and couldn't disassemble! Had to get my husband to knock it about a bit to get that sucker to move. Once we got the plunger moving, the first draw of paint was pathetic. Huge head space/ air pocket. I lifted out of fill nozzle and cranked out air with trigger then was able to fill. Note, draw as slowly as possible for maximum fill.
At the near finish of my second wall, the roller popped free. Luckily I caught it before it made too much of a mess. But it could have been a disaster!
Next, only a few holes actually push out paint. So, if you try to saturate brush, these holes spew....definitely need a drop cloth.
Other than these notes, it is a time saver, and beats using a tray to load a roller. I would recommend solely on the last statement.

The concept of this roller is great. If it worked well, it'd be well worth the price. But as everyone else has said, the roller pops off repeatedly (my husband gave it to me after the 7th time, and then I managed to get by with only 2 more times). It's definitely a pressure thing, but it shouldn't happen at all. Every time, it makes a mess dripping paint everywhere. I also second the fact that it used more paint than normal and your arms end up more tired than normal. It was worth a shot... now I'm going to return it when I go buy my second gallon of paint to finish this job.

The roller falls off, the angle of the product is awful! Spend the time to roll withou this! The cleanup is not worth it!

I purchased this product a few years back and it was hard to clean, parts got lost and after I used it once I threw it out. This one has made changes to all the things I didnt like before and they are all perfect! I love love love this item.

The pole is too short to be effective. It doesn't seem heavy, but after painting a couple of walls your arms will be much more tired than if you used a conventional roller. And saving the worst for last, the roller came off 3 times before I gave up on it, splattering paint everywhere each time it did.

Extremely useful on large jobs. There is a lot of clean up with the different pieces to the tube and roller that would make the small jobs almost not worth it. Great for the ceiling jobs.
