Yes. According to THE BED BUG BOOK, a minimum of 140 degrees is required to kill bed bugs and their eggs. You need to go slowly - about 10 seconds per foot - along all the edges, cording, and buttons on the mattress, as well as the nooks on the bed frame. My apartment building uses a massive heater to kill the bugs in vacant apartments. It takes 4-5 hours, and uses massive amounts of electricity. The machine is hugely expensive, and isn't as efficient as you might think. Which is why I bought the Wagner steamer. Plus, I can use it to clean other things, like the stove, blinds, and walls. We do not manufacturer this steamer to kill bed bugs but we have had people call and say they have used it for that purpose. I do not know what temperature you need to kill bedbugs. The inside of our tank reaches temperatures of 212 degrees but the machine will lose some steam heat coming through the hose. The temperature at the end of the nozzle is about 184 degrees. Answer:
I don't use vinegar after each use because I use a purified water that doesn't have the minerals in it that tap water has. If I used tap water I would use vinegar once per month to clean out hard water deposits and mineral deposits.

We suggest periodically. If you have very hard water I would suggest more often, if you have soft water, perhaps less. I clean mine with vinegar every third time I use it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GREAT STEAMER! I heated 48oz water in 30 minutes and steamed my bedroom in 15 minutes. It did a great job and I think I only used one third of the water. Whether your steamcleaning or killing bed bug eggs, this one will do it. June 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love it This is an awesome little machine and the price is great. I've used this for indoor cleaning,I'm sure it will be great for outdoor use too. It's light enough to carry around. The water in the tank lasts but you do have to check it so it doesn't run out. I did that by lifting it ,gently moving it around and listening , I was able to tell by doing this that it was running low. May 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very impressed I am very impressed for the money that you get that much quality. The machine works flawlessly and is user friendly. It goes together real well and if you follow the directions for filling it really does a good job. I cleaned my grout with it and was real impressed. I kept a mop close by to mop up the dirty water from steaming the grout. It returned the grout to new looking. I kept rinsing and ringing the mop out in the sink. If you use this steam cleaner you still need to wipe up the residue. For the money it is a very good tool. Now on to the shower area!!!! April 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wall paper removal I've only used this to remove wall paper but it was well worth the money! It will have many applications in the future May 17, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Used for wallpaper removal first This was purchased first and foremost for wallpaper removal. It made quicker work of removing the paper, but still left the difficult glue behind. It also spills water all over the wall while using, but that was happening with the sponge method as well. My main complaint is how often it needs to reheat, but for the low price, I probably shouldn't complain at all. I have yet to use it for sanitizing, but imagine I will be much happier with it there. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Machine Works hard to clean over ten years grout. It did the job with quality. April 27, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Versatile steamer Purchased this steamer for household use to replace older power steamer that had quit working. Our house has a lot of tile flooring, and while the Hoover Floormate we have does a great job of cleaning the tile floor, it doesn't do a very good job on cleaning the tile grout, which was the principle reason we bought this steamer. It did a terrific job steaming and restoring the original look of the grout on our tile floors. The major downside is the size of the tank and the time it takes to heat water when doing a fairly large tile floor. We'll also be using it for other applications around the house. March 26, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very good value, versatile quality tool, safe and easy to use. I used the steamer immediately to clean(white!) grout in a tiled bathroom floor. Worked very well- so much that my wife wanted to use it. Although I have wallpaper, tile, and wood cleaning projects yet to do, I thought I would try using it to clean and sanitize work shoe bottoms and ceramic pots for plants. Worked very well on those. The shoes were a challenge using soap and scrub brush. these were my son's work shoes at a fast food store- the bottoms were getting full of meat juices and heavily gummed up with flour and ??? The steamer jet cleaned them off with a minimum of fluid, and very quickly. Cleaned out all the crevices very nicely. I do not think the shoes will attract dogs anymore ! The ceramic plant pot cleaned up well, and hopefully killed residual bacteria/etc. I will be a bit more confident re-using them. Also- no big residue mess to clean up. User's manual could use some comments on how the end of water in the tank is determined. It is easy to figure out, but a reassuring note would be helpful. On the steamer unit- feature and attachments are perfect for me. the water gets to full temperature very quickly- I was expecting a longer wait. I am very happy with the product to date- I will recommend it to others, and share more uses. August 30, 2015
