Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bart Great for fence staining
Bought this unit instead of one of the cheaper models as it has two spray containers (fine and general use), variable blower speed control and higher flow rate. Only used the fine spray container for staining my fence and it worked well.
Overall, the unit isn't very loud, and READ THE DIRECTIONS so you understand details like pressing the trigger in partway to get the fan going and then depress it all the way to get the paint/stain spraying, You'll avoid spattering that way. Cleanup wasn't bad, even with paint thinner - took under ten minutes. I used this unit on two days to stain 150+ feet of 6 foot tall fencing. I spent about 4 hours, not including some setup and cleanup time.
This was the first time I've ever used a spray unit and I'm pleased with the results and how easy it was to do finish a nice job. Definitely worth the money.

I was always borrowing a friend of mine and decided I better by my own. With some thicker paints make sure you dilute it first. It will really make quick work of any job you have. Make sure to read the directions first. If it starts spitting out paint then you need to break it down and clean it. The only time I had to do that was after doing a really big job. Buy it you won't be disappointed!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Butters I'm loving the speed!
I was painting with a roller for a client using old paint he wanted mixed together. coverage was awful and I could tell it would take many coats to come up with anything resembling decent. I decided to suck it up and attempt a paint gun.
I found this one and after the extremely easy set up, was spraying in no time.
PERFECT coverage even for the Frankenstein paint concoction! As long as your dials are adjusted properly, there is very little over spray. I'm pretty sure most of what little there was, was probably my lack of fine tuning with the paint flow rate and air adjustment; since this was my first time and over spray was better at times and worse at others (depending on knob adjustment). Best of all, clean up was a breeze!
Overall, this is a fantastic product and I'm extremely pleased with its performance!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Michael verry disipointed and a waste of time and money
I followed instructions , and had paint every where. The paint would not stop and dribaled out and would not stop comming out. Cleanup was a 1.5 hour job of just the spray gun. second time it was a 3 hour cleanup. I will be taking it back today.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by andocrates It's a HPLV rig not a general purpose spray rig.
This is a special application spray rig. You can't paint a house with it. It delivers paint very very slowly but in a highly controlled manner eliminating most over-spray problems. Set the air pressure too high you get splatter, set the flow to heavy you get orange peel. I had my heart set on a grayco but I needed a Wagner. It's cheap enough to bin when you finish a major project (and cheaper then renting) and does an excellent job.
Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Barflyingy Good product, but not for a novice
I have a lot of experience with HVLP paint guns using oil base paint. I painted two airplanes using an air compressor, HVLP spray guns, and paint thinned with reducer. It was a breeze, and only took a little practice to make the outcome perfect. The big difference was that I could reach all surfaces to be painted while standing and walking around the subject.
With this gun, using latex paint in three small rooms, I had to paint ceilings overhead on a stool or ladder, and walls either standing and reaching way up or on a step stool. But, when it comes down to the bottom of the wall, it's squatting to hold the gun level so the product pickup will pickup. I had the pickup in the paint container pointing rearward so as to pickup the product when angled at the top of the wall. Each time I started a new wall, the gun spit out material in lumps to the right and bottom of the nozzle. I'm sure that was my fault and not a deficiency in the gun, but there was no warning in the instructions about this. The bottom line is that, in my opinion, it's easier to paint with a roller. The big plus in using this gun is that one can get all the corners done (ceiling/wall; wall/wall) a lot easier and more efficient than with a brush, and use a roller on the wide flat surfaces.
Very time consuming to clean up.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Busty Reasonable paint sprayer for the money
Nice sprayer for the money. Not a large volume reservoir, but would be heavy if it was much larger. You must always keep it upright to spray so some surfaces are a little more difficult to cover easily. Sprays pretty consistently.
