I have never used a paint sprayer prior to the purchase of this sprayer, for a first timer I have to say I am impressed with the ease of use and clean up. I heard horror stories of friends using older model sprayers before, uneven spraying and wasting a lot of paint to do a small project. I cannot compare past experiences, but I can say out of the box and a little reading of the instructions, I was painting in no time. After a few passes and a little adjustment I was painting like a pro. The only problem I had with the project was my lack of proper taping of some areas, and not understanding when it says to tarp off the area you don’t want painted. Once I seen the results of proper prep work, the painting went better than I could have wanted. I highly recommend this product.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by handyandy2010 Great starter sprayer.
This was a super user friendly tool. Great instructions on use, painting patterns, and clean was a breeze. I have never had a paint sprayer that gave examples of how to paint correctly. Nice touch. The unit being plastic made clean up very easy to do. Pressure control was a handy feature, especially for varying thicknesses . My only down side is I kept turning the unit off when switching hands.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by OutbackJoe Super Painting System For Any Home Project
The first thing that I noticed is how nice everything fits in one small box. The hose fits in the top half of the box and the two supplied guns (what they call nozzles) in the bottom half. There is a place to store the power cord. Even the power cord has a grommet on it to completely seal the inside of the box when its being used. Its super easy to move around and it stores in less than 2'x2' space. They even have a spray gun holder built into the carrying handle. This unit comes with a full size pattern to show how to apply paint. So for the first time painter this is a very complete unit (see attached photos).
Setup is quick and easy, open the box plug in the power cord, connect the hose attach the paint gun fill and paint. Its so much easier than any of my compressed air setups. And cleanup is a breeze. This was made so everything comes apart to be cleaned. It either snaps together or has coarse screw threads making teardown and reassembly super easy. There are no small passages to get clogged like a compressed air unit.
The 2 spray guns that come with this unit can spray just about any paint or coating that you can think of. From latex to stains. The bigger spray gun is for heavier paints and coatings, and larger areas. This works great for flat surfaces like a wall or ceiling. The smaller gun for more detailed work, I used it on doors that have a patterns to them. Both guns are adjustable for pattern of the paint and the amount of paint applied. I wanted a gloss finish on all of our interior doors and this sprayer did the trick. The doors came out with a very glossy and smooth finish. Applying semi-gloss clear water based polyurethane is a dream. It comes out very smooth. Since this is a HVLP system you don't have as much overspray. With less overspray you get more of the finish on the surface your painting and not in the air and on the floor. It looks like I am getting about 20% more coverage out of my paint now.
I can't see any of my compressed air paint guns being used again. This eliminated the need to set all of that up. The HVLP system is 75% less work to setup, use and clean. I only wish I had one of these before I really can't say enough good things about this system.
I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a high end DIY system, even if you have never used a spray paint unit this would be the one to get. Everything but the paint is included.

My sister and I, aged 60, decided to paint a house so we invested in this sprayer, not ever having used one before. We did read every direction first. This paint sprayer was easy to assemble, easy to use, easy enough to move. Where we fell short was probably in technique, which gave us a little trouble. The trick, we found, was to clean the sprayer really well between uses, and that cleaning took us about a half hour as we meticulously checked each piece. We also discovered the little places where paint could gunk up, which gave us a moment or two of spitting paint.
I would buy and use again. Maybe naively, we expected it to paint the house for us, and we learned that we had to be diligent in our use and maintenance. Expect that.

This is the first system that truly works. We bought a house and have painted it from top to bottom. I could not imagine using a roller. We plan to do the outside in the fall. Tips: if you stop for more than 5 mins. Wipe your finger over the tip. The gun blows so much air that it drys out the excess paint while sitting there. Then do a quick test spray to clear tip. Then your set to go. If you paint for more than and hour. I found it useful to take the sprayer off and do a quick cleaning. Then you never get splats.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Eddie Works great with Oil Stain and Latex Paint
I waited on writing this review until after I've used it for both oil and water based stain/paint.
The stain application was awesome. I was able to stain a 6 month old 800 sq. ft. deck in about 6 hours. That includes posts, sideboards, stairs, spindles...etc. If done by hand this job would have taken me over 3 days to complete. When using oil based stain, I found it best to back the throttle adjuments off to near minimum setting and the blower knob at mid range. Application was even and simple. The small sprayer work great on the spindles with very little stain wasted.
I was skeptical about it handling latex paint, however, I was proved wrong. The paint I used was Behr Premium. It had a consistancy of brownie batter being extremely viscous and thick. I set the 890 to its highest throttle and blower position and it laid a perfect layer of paint. No runs whatsoever on verticle surfaces. Again the small sprayer worked great on the spindles without wasting paint.
Clean-up was not difficult as it does not have many parts. Easy to use, takes about 5 minutes to figure it out.
The only con is dealing with the hose, however, if you are moving around quite a bit just having another person available to move the unit around and keep the hose from being stepped on or kinked alleviates any issues.
This sprayer is everything it's advertised to be. Just don't let your neighbor see you using it because he/she will want to borrow it and you might not get it back.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TheRiz Best Sprayer I've ever had!
I've owned a few Sprayers and borrowed a few from friends, but this new Wagner Flexio 890 is the BEST one I've Ever used. I went on line and watched a Video on using it and followed instructions and it was a snap. Move your arm side to side instead of Fanning the Sprayer (breaking your wrist) and it's easy to use. Vertical, Horizontal or Overhead, same Great result. Dial down for Fine Spray or Wide open you get Great Results. Fun to use. The Case is True Wagner Quality.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Warp6 Can't believe how well this works.
I was very skeptical that this would spray un-thinned latex at all let alone that it would have any useful control of either the material or the air volume. Most expensive turbines don't handle these kinds of materials unless they are at least high volume 3-4 stage units.
Now granted the 4 stage unit will spray un-thinned latex with much finer atomization of the material but we're talking about the difference between a $1500.00 unit and a one that sells for less than $200.00.
If you're looking for automotive finish this sprayer won't do it. But what it will do is produce a pretty satisfactory finish that is somewhere between a nice roller job and a fine sprayer if you use it properly.
Setting it up and using it properly are key to getting good results, as well as proper cleaning before storing it.
I've had the unit for about a month now using it to spray latex on both the interior and exterior of some kitchen cabinets and then covering the latex with a protective coat of water based polyurethane using both the spray guns as needed. Both guns performed well and it was easy to adjust the air volume as I got started with each gun at the hand control and when I needed to shoot paint to the back of deep cabinets that the gun would not fit in switching between fan spray and round patterns at the gun tip worked like a charm.(Note: The material trigger stops are worthless they don't go out far enough to reduce the material into a fine mist or stop it completely as with most air guns, so use your fingers and feel how much to pull back to get the volume that you want.)
Clean up is easy just don't do it over an open sink drain or you might loose the nozzle seal if it pops out with the nozzle when you remove it for final cleaning.
I've been a professional general contractor , and finish carpenter most of my life and I have to admit I was very concerned with using something that looks like it is made out of plastic and may have come out of a gumball machine, but so far it has laid my concerns to rest in the way that it has performed.
If you're looking for something to do a delicate job with little or no overspray and don't need an automotive quality finish this system will probably do a satisfactory job for you if you take some time to get used to how it works.
Hope this helps, I'm actually fairly impressed with this unit. (If I wasn't I'd have written a review that would have read just the opposite of this one.)
