I did not thin mine and it went on great. Uses a good amount of paint, I could have used less paint if done by hand but no where near as fast.

Answer:
Yes, it can be used for latex paints.
The instructions say thinning not required but, I thinned by solid stain a little, I mixed 1/2 cup water in the gallon before I started spraying. When painting, especially spraying, you want to apply 2 light coats, instead of 1 thick coat. Allow time to dry in between also!.

Answer:
Yes it will spray latex paint and you should not have to thin it. I sprayed Behr exterior Masonry and Stucco paint with it unthinned. Remove and clean the piston once and a while during the job as latex will build up on it and it will stop spraying. Removing the piston and cleaning it only takes a minute.

If you are going with oil paint yes I do recommend to thin it, penetrol or mineral spirits 1/10 of the can sprayer should be enough.
Now if is water based flotrol is a good way to thin.
Good luck and dont forget to overlap a little with each pass.

Answer:
Yes you could spray kitchen cabinets using the Wagner Power Painter Max. If possible it would be best to spray them outdoors as with any airless sprayer they were will some over spray to deal with. Make sure to take time to cover anything you do not want paint on that is nearby.

I would say yes, if not already installed. The overspray would be to much for inside painting. My wife intends to remove the doors and spray them, while hand painting the existing cabinetry.

This sprayer would work great with latex paint. I have owned over six Wagner sprayers and this one is the best I have ever used. I have no problem spraying primer or latex paint with this gun. I takes about 15 minutes to clean the gun but this keeps the gun working in tip top shape. Also oil gun after you clean the gun before the next use.

Power Painter Max 7.2 GPH Paint Sprayer is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 76.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from It was too good to be true. Everything worked fine for the first 10 minutes. And then it was all downhill from there. It kept getting jammed because my primer was too thick. It was behr primer. Nothing out of the ordinary. It is a paint sprayer after all. Anyway. I thinned it out. And it still keeps jamming. I'm so mad. Spend more time taking it apart to unjam it than I have spent painting. Bought this to save time from using a brush and I'm barely breaking even and it's wasting a lot of paint. I'm so mad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from a keeper tool! I am a DIY from way back and one thing I have learned through the years is. The quality job always done with quality tools. So I had a restoration job on a small house and no time or help to get it done. painting became a problem to the rest of the project. when i found this sprayer I was taking a chance because it was inexpensive. I have had it three years and have used it on twenty or so projects. It is unbelievable the different applications this has been used for. The one thing they do not talk about enough is the ability to spray thick paint. latex is hard on sprayer. Most painters spend tons on this and have to water down paint to spray or put in stuff to soften the flow. in effect change the paint. A home owner is not going to get into that. They should not get into that! This thing has saved me literally hours of prep time, dry time and ,labour time. i actually enjoy playing with this. My daughter is famous for calling me to paint something off the clock for her. I think ill buy her husband one for Christmas!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a time saver This sprayer gives professional looking results with a minimum of practice. It is very important to do a test spray for coverage on a scrap of wood first. I painted a door in the fraction of the time it would have taken with a brush with no brush strokes. It gives a smooth even finish in less coats than the brush would have taken. The clean up wasn't bad, but follow the instruction book closely for the first time. Total clean up time for my first time using the sprayer was about 15 minutes. I'm sure it will be much quicker next time. This was well worth the cost on time and effort with the one door already done. I can't wait to use it on the next project.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for commercial use I bought the Wagner sprayer six months ago for use in my home remodeling company. I used it approximately once/week for about 3 sprays at a time. It requires a great deal of maintenance to keep clean (approx 30 min each time I cleaned it). It never had a really good spray either, the spray is more like a mist. I went to HD to buy replacement parts and none were available so I was forced to buy a new one. This might be good for someone that only uses it on occasion and doesn't mind the clean up, but I don't recommend this to anyone that will be using it frequently.
