Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible Quality and Missing Parts We purchased the same walnut storage bench from Home Depot in BC, Canada. The Canadian bench we purchased was made from solid wood and was of much better quality than the one we received. We wanted a second bench could not find it for sale in Canada. I was happy to find it on-line through Home Depot.com. Unfortunately, when we received it and lugged it home to Canada from the USA, it was missing parts, had a huge scratch on the seat and was not solid wood like our previous purchase. It is advertised as Walnut but has the cheap look of cherry and melamine. We can not return it in Canada and it is too much of a pain to lug it back to the USA, so we are stuck with it. Shame that Home Depot are re-creating identical product designs, in such cheap quality now. June 13, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Spend a little extra for a quality one. Several things were wrong when I got this. The colors of the wood were not consistent. It arrived damaged. I started putting it together and noticed some of the holes were not pre drilled in it. The ones that were did not line up. After putting 3 pieces together, I took it back apart and placed it in the box to return it. Not worth the time or money. Spend a few extra dollars and get a quality one. June 20, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Difficult assembly Again, very difficult to put together. The outside end of the bench had a big chip in it. The preset holes for the screws did not match up. A dowel hole was never drilled out. One brace on the end was glued on upside down, thus preventing it to be flush when assembled. The bench seats are not square once they were put in place. We should have returned it, but was in the middle of assembling it, when we discovered all the problems. Also, the bottom floor piece is very cheaply made. Would not recommend buying it. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by great purchase The product was represented accurately in the product description. It functioned as advertised. January 20, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Nice bench, tough construction I like the bench, but it is a tough construct. The way the bench assembles goes against any other furniture I have assembled. I get why they did it that way, but it is really odd and is best done with two people. It is good looking, but the bottom is not sturdy. It is great to store sheets, pillow cases, and an extra blanket - which is what I wanted it for. It is at the end of the bed and is good storage there. Not really heavy duty (even though it weighs alot), but only because the bottom is so flimsy. One of the connectors was missing, so I went and bought one from Home Depot, they have extra parts for DYI furniture. I didn't want to wait for the company to mail me one connector. Overall, I really like it, but wouldn't recommend it because it is so wierd to assemble and because of the flimsy bottom. March 11, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Looks nice but hard to assemble I am happy with the overall product but it was more difficult to put together than I had expected. The bench seats were damaged when I removed them from the box. The screws used to attach the hinges stripped out and caused the damage. September 16, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Multiple parts had issues I attempted to assemble this and discovered that one piece was glued on backwards. We made it work by putting in an extra screw, but the predrilled screws and threads did not line up. In addition the wood piece that holds the bench seats was horribly warped which caused the seats to have about an inch and a half of space between them. The bottom piece that holds the "box" together is a cheap cardboard like piece. I'm not confident that it can hold much weight inside the bench. I'm currently waiting on the manufacturer to send us a new part as stated in their warranty. It has been over a week now and I've sent an email about 4 times that they seem to always miss / ignore.... I have no complains about Home Depot just the bench. Needless to say, the bench looks pretty good and for the price and if all the pieces were correct... I probably would buy it again. March 25, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by difficult to assemble This was very difficult to assemble. Only one piece had a tagged number for starters. I called twice for assist and no answer. Reason given bad weather. Finally got an e-mail with another diagram of bench. Gave up as you need two people to assemble this bench. I gave up and daughter and son in law came to help. It took much longer than they anticipated. February 25, 2014
