I don't know how energy efficient it is, so I left that blank. It is a great blender that makes very smooth vegetable smoothies, you just have to keep adding ice so they don't get warm. My only wish is that it came with a little demonstration cookbook with ideas of what you can do with this particular blender. It just comes with basic instructions. This is an excellent professional quality blender. It opened my kitchen up to more possibilities than I could even imagine. I feel like I have a top quality chef tool.

Our son has Autism, along with an eating disorder to where he won't eat foods, unless they are blended.
Since he was born in the past 6 years, we've spent well over $600.00, especially in the past 4 years, constantly replacing burned out blenders that couldn't keep up with blending solid foods like Beef, chicken and Turkey 2 and 3 times a day.
Most of those blenders would work OK for a couple of months, then quickly deteriorate. First you could hear the Ball bearings on them start to rattle, then the blade would become loose and finally the motor would simply burn out.
After several months of using the Waring Pro unit, it still runs EXACTLY as well as it did the first time we used it and we're extremely happy with how it works.
We considered buying a VitaMix Unit, but we couldn't see paying an extra 100.00 for a Tamper and the Variable speed. Additionally, because of what we're using it for, we thought the extra horsepower would come in handy.
After talking with a local Juicer that uses this same exact unit in his shop 20X a day for the past 5 years we came to the conclusion that this was the unit for us and we haven't had an ounce of regret.
It works just as well in making Frappuccino's and Frozen Margarita's as it does in friction heating soups made from scratch and everything in between.
Now our son's grandfather's Parkinson's is making it difficult to eat regular foods and they're having the same issue with "off the shelf" blenders that we had before, so we're buying another unit for Grandpa and we know that they'll be just as happy with their unit as we are with ours.
