Customer Questions & Answers

Tub cavity?

Cast iron tubs are cold. Can I line the cavity. No weight would be on wires. Would have access panel somewhere. Would have GFCI. What is any safety problem when you can drop a hair dryer into vanity GFCI? If it ever goes bad then tough luck. But until then how do you heat a cold tub without hot water? She is elderly so she doesn't jump around tub as fast as you and me. She would even sit on tub edge sometimes or with transfer bench. Maybe even run wires through grab bars like a towel warmer.

Customer Reviews

5 ft. x 36 in. 120-Volt TempZone Floor Warming Kit (Covers 15 sq. ft.) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from AAAAH warm tile is great The Warmly Yours electric floor warming kit is a true elegant addition to the bathroom. I hate having cold tile on my feet. I have lower back issues and getting cold causes my back to seize up. If you’re retiling your bathroom then this is a product to consider. Aaaah warm tile. Love it. I also like the thermostat that comes with the unit. It is programmable and has its own built in ground fault protection which simplifies electrical installation. The kit comes with a wiring checker. I highly recommend using the wiring checker, as described in the instructions, before hooking the thermostat to the heating wires. Also, use a ohm meter to check the resistance. They gave specifications. In the instructions, they show using a hot glue gun to lay the heating wiring and thermal couple down prior to applying Thinset. I thought this was a great idea. When applying the Thinset be careful if you have a sharp edge trowel. As I applied the thinset I realized how easy it would be to knick the heating wire with the trowel. The wire is small in diameter and I know it must contain at least two wires so I imagine a small knick would pretty much scrap the project. The instructions show how to cut the fabric to make the heating coil go around coils. I didn’t have to do that. One area I had to think about was where the electrical line connects with the fabric and heating wire. The connection is about ½ inch in diameter and about 3 inches long. Obviously, just laying that lump on top of the cement board creates a tiling problem. So I recessed this section into the cement board. The result is that this is a great addition to my bathroom. It is not a beginner’s project. It does complicate the tile laying process so if you’re doing it yourself get some instructions from someone who has done it before. Also, the thermostat has the thermocouple wires in addition to the main electrical lines. These wires can’t be in the same electrical box unless the thermocouple wires are in a special tube. I used an electrical box that had a separate hole for the thermocouple wires so they never went through the electrical box. The product is great and well engineered. I don’t see how they could have made it any easier to setup. I recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nothing ike warm feet on a cold day I received my floor warming kit.(5ft x 36") It seems to include everything needed for a complete underfloor installation. I chose to install it in my garage in a lounge area I have set up. I already have a Garage floor installed Home depot Model # GF55LV944SG. So I decided in the lounge area I would install an inexpensive snap lock floor with the heater over the polyvinyl floor so I would get better insulation from the cold cement slab underneath the garage floor and it would also act as a heat break to keep the slab from stealing all the heat so it can be passed to the snap lock floor then to my feet. It was very easy to install in this case, I unrolled the mat with the cord for the power source as close to the power supply as I could get. Considering I was installing it over a vinyl floor, I used a wire tacker stapler to secure it in place so it would stay in place during installation. After installing the snap lock floor over it, I started the wiring procedure. I dont know if it was necessary, But it was easy for me to run a seperate line for the heater on a 20amp breaker. I was going to use a gfci but there is already one built into the thermostat. Wiring was straight forward and simple as per the directions. I chose to set it up with the programmable thermostat that came with it. It can be set up non-programmable as well. All the items you need are included in the box, the heat mat (of course) thermostat, circuit checker, batteries and even a small screwdriver for making the connections. This is a definite DIY project. If you are capable enough to install a ceramic tile floor, you should be capable enough to do this. This is a great product and I'm looking forward to cold winter mornings with a floor that will keep my feet warm and comfy.....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Prompt Shipment The heating mat was easy to lay but be sure to hot wax it to the underlayment before spreading leveling mix or it may pop up to surface. The non-programmable thermostat that came with the kit was determined to be defective as it wouldn't light up even after temp sensor and electrical continuity checks. I contacted Home Depot customer service and they promptly sent off a requisition to Warmly Yours who immediately shipped a replacement Thermostat via UPS which should arrive today.
