Customer Reviews

3000 lbs. 120-Volt AC Utility Winch is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't work for me To be fair, it may work for you but it did not work for me and I had to return it. The directions were very poor for hooking up the electrical. It took my electrical engineering neighbor awhile to figure it out and hook it up. It worked for about 2 seconds for me in winding up, but it would not unwind at all. I put a 12 gauge cord on it (rated for 20 amp) and plugged it into a 20 amp circuit, but the initial draw was so much that it would dim the lights and not kick in and work. We thought we may have rewired wrong and tried several things, but nothing worked. We put it back to the way it worked for 2 seconds and it wouldn't work the next time. I tried it in different plugs too. We called Warn and checked and we wired it correctly. I suppose if you wired it for 220V that it would work, but I was not willing to do that, it would not work for what I wanted. I just ordered a Superwinch 2000lb winch to see if this will work since it's less draw. I lose 1000 lb winching ability, so I could run into trouble with that since I have to pull a 2000 lb boat up an incline. We'll see what happens, but I was not happy that after spending almost $1000 (a lot of money in my opinion) that it did not work for me. For the 115v application, I would NOT recommend.
