I do a lot of woodworking and my favorite part of the process is finishing. First let me start out by saying this is an oil/varnish blend (it actually contains no teak oil at all, but that's ok). The claims of "protects from within" are a little exaggerated. The strength of a finish is in it's build. To fully protect wood from abrasion and liquids, you need to build a film. This product does not do that. As the surface wears, so will the finish.
With that said, oil/varnish blends have a few fantastic uses. One is for occasional use items or items that will not be subject to a lot of wear and tear like boxes. Another is for applications where the finish takes so much abuse that semi-frequent reapplication is required - such as outdoor furniture.
The latter is where this product is awesome. It is quite a bit glossier than it's Danish Oil cousin, but can either be polished up to a really high gloss, or knocked down to a satin sheen easily. Application is as simple as it gets. Follow the instructions on the can.
I make a lot of custom wooden razor stands that have to put up with the tough climate of the bathroom and will get wet often. With quarterly reapplication, this product holds up really well. Unlike many film building finishes , no sanding or stripping is required to give the piece a gentle refresh.
Another great use for this piece is preserving the color of unique exotic species. Woods like purpleheart. padauk, yellowheart, bloodwood, and redheart all lose their vibrant color tones when exposed to UV. This has a UV inhibitor. It can be used under a protective film building finish (like polyurethane, acrylics/waterborne finishes, shellac, and some lacquers) after it has fully cured for about a week.
This is a great product that I will continue to use. I get the same results from this as I do from my custom tung/BLO/Spar varnish blend, but I don't have to mix anything and this has a MUCH longer shelf life.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by RayBob Lasts Surprisingly Long!
I bought a Teak Patio Glider in 1998, and after 4 years on the patio, it turned a light gray color. I went to Home Depot to look for a stain to rejunivate it, and found the Watco Teak Oil, so figured it might be the finish of choice for Teak.
I used 1/2 quart to saturate the glider, and it lasted till 2013. After pressure washing this year, the color had finally lightened up enough to warrent another treatment, and I used the remaining 1/2 quart, which made the glider look just like new again. Lasted both on the glide and on the shelf for 11 years. Amazing!

While this product worked very well on my wood shelving, I can't seem to get rid of the smell. It was easier to use than I thought it would be.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by RayR Easy to use - looks great - long lasting
lasts 2-3 times longer than traditional teak oil - protects and seals the wood but does not make the surface glossy.
