Product Overview

The Water Worker 20 Gal. Pressurized Well Tank is pre-charged and designed to maintain its air charge for years to provide easy upkeep. The tank utilizes a thick diaphragm to keep water separate from pre-charged air and to help reduce air loss. This tank also features a steel shell to support the water weight, a polypropylene liner to help prevent taste or odor from being absorbed into the water and deep-drawn steel construction for durability.

  • Designed as a direct-fit replacement for the majority of installed well tank bases
  • Constructed of deep-drawn steel for durability
  • Polypropylene-lined steel supports water weight to ensure water never sits in loose-fitting vinyl or rubber bags that can fold, crease and wear
  • NSF certified
  • Polypropylene liner separates water from the steel shell to prevent taste or odor from being absorbed into the water, formed liner fits the steel shell for added durability
  • Sizing - count the number of water fixtures in and outside the home and multiply that # by 3; fixtures include faucets, spickets, shower heads, dish washer, washing machine, etc. for hot tubs and sprinkler systems add 1 to 2 fixtures for each; there are no disadvantages to having a larger well tank as fewer pump cycles will extend pump life and save money on electricity
  • Stainless-steel waterway lining has no plastic to cross-thread, strip or crack
  • Thick diaphragm keeps water separate from pre-charged air and helps to reduce air loss
  • Molded diaphragm offers an ideal fit, sits on top of the water and will not fold, crease or drag against the steel shell
  • 20 Gal. of total volume; plain or galvanized tank equivalent of 42 Gal.
  • Pre-charged to 38 psig; 100 psig maximum working pressure
  • Maintains air charge for years to provide easy upkeep
  • 2-part water-based paint system sprayed over a durable 2-part epoxy primer provides corrosion resistance and safe paint covering
  • 1 in. NPTF system connection uses malleable iron for dependability
  • Well tanks are not be used in Reverse Osmosis systems
  • Well tanks are not be used for water expansion in thermal (water heater) or hydronic (boiler/solar) systems
  • Accessories shown in alternate image sold separately

Can you use a vertical tank as a horizontal tank?

Can you use a vertical tank as a horizontal tank?
Asked by: robin
It's not recommended by the manufacturer. If you need a 20 gallon horizontal tank the same manufacturer sells it on homedepot.com.

Does it come with the crossbar assembly

Asked by: Kar
Could you elaborate? Think of this item as a reservoir of pressurized water that supplies your system for a period of time. It's purpose is to prevent frequent cycling of your pump. I have 2 of these. One on my well for the irrigation system and the other on the house water system after the aeration tank. Neither system has a "crossbar assembly."

I believe I have a 26 gallon can of 20 work for me

Asked by: shawn
these tanks have 2 main purposes: To extend the life of your pump and to hold water in case there is a blackout. The larger the tank, the less times your pump will cycle, extending the pumps life and saving you money on electricity. Also, the larger it is, the more water it will hold in case of power loss as the tank will still "pump" water to faucets and toilets until it runs dry. Once the tank runs dry, you will need to purchase bottled water just to flush the toilets. You can never over size a tank. If your home has 1-1/2 baths or less, the 20 gallon may work fine for you. Without more specifics, I can't be sure.
