Product Overview

The Water Worker 86 Gal. Pressurized Well Tank features a steel shell to support the water weight, a polypropylene liner to help prevent taste or odor from being absorbed into the water and a thick diaphragm that keeps water separate from pre-charged air and helps to reduce air loss. This tank is designed as a direct-fit replacement for the majority of installed well tank bases, and the tank's deep-drawn steel construction offers excellent durability.

  • Designed as a direct-fit replacement for the majority of installed well tank bases
  • Constructed of deep-drawn steel for durability
  • Polypropylene-lined steel supports water weight to ensure water never sits in loose-fitting vinyl or rubber bags that can fold, crease and wear
  • NSF certified
  • Polypropylene liner separates water from the steel shell to prevent taste or odor from being absorbed into the water; polypropylene liner does not require scheduled replacements for long-lasting use; formed liner fits the steel shell for added durability
  • Sizing - count the number of water fixtures in and outside the home and multiply that # by 3; fixtures include faucets, spickets, showerheads, dish washer, washing machine, etc. for hot tubs and sprinkler systems add 1 to 2 fixtures for each; there are no disadvantages to having a larger well tank as fewer pump cycles will extend pump life and save money on electricity; tank stores a buffer of water in case of power outage
  • Stainless-steel waterway lining has no plastic to cross-thread, strip or crack
  • Pre-charged to 38 psi; 100 psi maximum working pressure
  • 86 Gal. of total volume; plain or galvanized tank equivalent of 220 Gal.
  • Maintains air charge for years to provide easy upkeep
  • 2-part water-based paint system sprayed over a durable 2-part epoxy primer provides corrosion resistance and safe paint covering
  • 1-1/4 in. NPTF system connection uses malleable iron for dependability
  • Well tanks are not be used in Reverse Osmosis systems
  • Well tanks are not be used for water expansion in thermal (water heater) or hydronic (boiler/solar) systems
  • Accessories shown in alternate image sold separately

What are the recommended parts to purchase together with this tank?

I see there's a galvanized T (between 13"-16"), a Check Valve on one side, and a pressure gauge on the other. Could you list a complete setup including costs?
Asked by: John
Here's a visual on what you need. The T size depends on what size tank you purchase.

I replaced a galvanized tank with this diaphragm one and it more than meets my expectations . Installing was easy and it is out preforming the old tank by leaps and bounds ( and it supplies two houses ) . The directions were a bit fuzzy on my type of system ( geared to submersibles ) but the folks at Home Depot , Orange Tx were most helpful in answering my questions . My pump is cycling on much less and pressure is great . Wish I had done this long ago . Thanks to the good ladies in the plumbing dept. at Home Depot , Orange Texas .

BOX LOOKED GOOD SO DID NOT OPEN UNTIL HOME. OPENED BOTTOM FIRST AND LIKE SO MANY OTHERS THE FLOOR MOUNT WAS BENT. COULD HAVE LIVED WITH THAT BUT NOTICED NIPPLE INTO TANK HAD RUST AROUND IT. REMOVED PLASTIC PLUG AND FOUND RUSTY WATER INSIDE THE CAST NIPPLE AND ELBOW. AD SAYS STAINLESS STEEL LINED WATERWAY. NOT! PLUS WHO KNOWS WHAT WAS IN THIS RUSTY WATER OR IN THE DIAPHRAGM. HOOK IT UP TO MY DRINKING WATER SUPPLY? ARE YOU KIDDING? BACK IT WENT.

This tank is the second Water Worker I have purchased for two different locations. It is easy to install and I have not had any problems with either tank. Price at Home Depot was the best of the big warehouse store.

I purchased 4-12" x 12" paver blocks as a footing for the tank and this worked well. Works more efficiently than the old 100 gal. steel volume tank that was replaced.
