PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Model # HT86B

Store SKU # 1000027356

The Water Worker 86 Gal. Pressurized Well Tank features a steel shell to support the water weight, a polypropylene liner to help prevent taste or odor from being absorbed into the water and a thick diaphragm that keeps water separate from pre-charged air and helps to reduce air loss. This tank is designed as a direct-fit replacement for the majority of installed well tank bases, and the tank's deep-drawn steel construction offers excellent durability.

  • Designed as a direct-fit replacement for the majority of installed well tank bases
  • Constructed of deep-drawn steel for durability
  • Polypropylene-lined steel supports water weight to ensure water never sits in loose-fitting vinyl or rubber bags that can fold, crease and wear
  • NSF certified
  • Polypropylene liner separates water from the steel shell to prevent taste or odor from being absorbed into the water; polypropylene liner does not require scheduled replacements for long-lasting use; formed liner fits the steel shell for added durability
  • Sizing - count the number of water fixtures in and outside the home and multiply that # by 3; fixtures include faucets, spickets, shower heads, dish washer, washing machine, etc. for hot tubs and sprinkler systems add 1 to 2 fixtures for each; there are no disadvantages to having a larger well tank as fewer pump cycles will extend pump life and save money on electricity; tank stores a buffer of water in case of power outage
  • Stainless-steel waterway lining has no plastic to cross-thread, strip or crack
  • Thick diaphragm keeps water separate from pre-charged air and helps to reduce air loss
  • Molded diaphragm offers an ideal fit, sits on top of the water and will not fold, crease or drag against the steel shell
  • 86 Gal. of total volume; plain or galvanized tank equivalent of 220 Gal.
  • Pre-charged to 38 psig; 100 psig maximum working pressure
  • Maintains air charge for years to provide easy upkeep
  • 2-part water-based paint system sprayed over a durable 2-part epoxy primer provides corrosion resistance and safe paint covering
  • 1-1/4 in. NPTF system connection uses malleable iron for dependability

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 63 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Tank Reading these reviews helped me decide which product to buy. I bought this back in March so I thought I should wait a few months to see if any problems developed. I wanted to find something made in the USA if possible and this tank advertises that it is. When installing it I was taken aback by the words" made in China" on the cast iron elbow. The tank was easy to install and I had no leaks or problems with it. I had to lower the pressure for my system set up and this was easy as well. I was looking for something in stock that I could look at and this was, however, the store in Longview, Texas did not have a single 1 1/4 inch fitting for the connection. The plumbing manager said there was not enough demand to keep anything that size in stock. June 2, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Product Overall All aspects of the buy/install process were easy and went smoothly. Good vs. excellent rating was given due to 3 small shipping dents. Examination of shipping box indicates inadequate protection midpoint between the 4 corner cardboard standoffs allowing shipping damage to occur in those areas. Doesn't affect functionality and the dents are not readily apparent. July 9, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Bad instrutions The 86 gal tank if fine, except you need 1 1/2 inch pipe not the 1 1/4 inch that it states in the specs. On the web and the box, not very happy in the fact that I live out of town and had to make extra trip July 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It's Huge! Heavy duty diaphragm construction. This is one big pressure tank. Our well used to run every 45 seconds with the shower running. Now it runs every 8 minutes! The only gotchas that I ran into during installation were that I needed an 6" extension for my tank tee since this thing has a greater diameter. Secondly, the tank connection elbow is 1-1/4" FPT not the 1" size that I had and coincidentally is listed on the instruction booklet. A simple 1-1/4" x 1" steel bushing did the trick but it was an inconvenience to have to wait for the hardware store to open with my water system torn apart halfway through the installation. Nevertheless, this seems to be a really nice, BIG, pressure tank for the price. As long as it holds up I will be happy. February 5, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't take a dented tank I'm surprised at the number of reviewers who will accept a dented tank because it " doesn't affect its use". Please people consider a dented tank might have paint damage on the INSIDE of the tank that might rust through cutting the life span considerably. If not damaged it's probably a good tank. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Value The tank is a very good value. My biggest gripe is the fist sized dent that was in it. I decided to just live with it since I didn't want my water system down even longer to wait for a replacement. Plus, there is nothing but a box around it with no styrofoam so it's no wonder it had a dent. A second one would probably have a dent also. Regardless, the tank has been a great addition to our well system. We had a 20gal so I plumbed this one into the system so I had both. We went for pump run times of 16sec to a little over 2min. Worries of pump short cycling are gone and the drawdown is dramatically improved as one would expect. Well worth the cost for us. August 13, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product High quality, easy to follow installation instructions (clear and understandable English), and has functioned well since installation (about a month). Instructions helped describe how to connect to the water pressure tank and set the correct tank pressure for the water pump pressure. Another MADE IN AMERICA quality product. September 6, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product This is a great tank. I did have to get a reducer just like every one else. This tank is about exact to the old one in every way . Would recommend this tank very good. thanks Brent March 15, 2014
