Right out of the packaging, I noticed a scuff on the hose, so there goes the scuff-resistant claim, and that 5th star. But the hose is long, and the heavy duty couplings are nice. I haven't had the hose kink and have rolled it up a number of times. As for performance, the water is flowing without hesitation. When the hose is fully extended, it's a great hose. If you are looking for an average daily garden hose, this really is your man. It is long enough to reach those harder spots, and gets the water where you need it most.
I would recommend fully extending the hose out on first use, let it warm up in the sun for a few hours, and then roll it back up. This will help reduce kinking and give it the flexibility it needs to last for a long time!

This is a good quality hose that’s upper medium weight and should give years of service in normal use. It's not as heavy as an industrial hose but almost. It has nice solid brass end fittings and a strain relief on the faucet end. As with most vinyl type of hoses temperature is a big factor. Below 40 degrees this hose becomes very stiff. If the sun is out the hoses dark color make warm up much faster and this makes the hose much easier to handle. Once the hose is filled with water and twists removed it seems to be hard to get it to kink. This is also a big plus.
The hose says that its 5/8" inside diameter and it is, all the way thru. Any long hose that has restrictive fittings won't run a larger lawn sprinkler very well, glad to see that this one will. This hose seems to be on the order of upper end hoses, well build and durable.

Definitely heavy duty. Had a little problem getting it straightened from it's packaged roll, it wanted to curl back up. That's not unusual, but because it is heavy duty it was a little harder to straighten out.
I put it on a reel so it wouldn't be stretched all over the yard waiting for me to mow it to pieces in seen in the tall grass. (I've been known to do that.) It went on the reel easily.

When this hose was advertised as heavy duty, I figured it would just like other so-called "heavy-duty" hoses. I was wrong! This hose is stronger than any hose I've ever owned. We have goats and horses, so we go through hoses every year. This one promises to last a whole lot longer. It's reinforced from one end to the other. Very impressive!

This is a kink resistant hose. Not a kink-proof hose, but I don't really think that that can exist. It has reinforced connectors and is decently light to tug around the yard.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by restathome Heavy and light all at the same time!
Good weight for being heavy duty! Would have preferred 120 ft, but this is the longest Home Depot carried. However, HEAVY DUTY is right! Brass ends and hose composition puts our other hoses to shame (it take 3 x 100+ footers to get to the burn pile from the closest hose bibb.) We can drive the lawn tractor over this one. We'll have to own it through the brutal-sun Houston summer to see if it fades.
Handy tip from my snake-fearing husband: When you leave a hose lying un-connected, screw the male and female ends together to discourage creepy crawlies and slithering things. It's really un-nerving to have a snake be the first thing out when you turn on the faucet!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MikeB Very heavy-duty hose!
I’m glad I got this 100’ hose. I’ve ended up with 25’ and 50’ lengths coupled together for both my outdoor faucets and they both leak at the connections. The hose is solidly constructed and is very heavy-duty. Instructions say to not leave the hose under pressure, but I leave my constantly on and so far so good. The metal connections are very sturdy and there is a collar at the faucet connection to prevent the hose from kinking there. I plan to purchase another one

This isn't supposed to kink but mine kinks constantly. I stretch it out to water the lawn and there are at least 8 kinks in it! When i unkink it, it flops around and knocks over flowerpots and damages the plants. It leaks around the attachment unless the washer is JUST RIGHT and it is screwed on the faucet JUST RIGHT and there is no tension on it. I've had worse hoses but they weren't as expensive or SUPPOSED TO BE as good as this is purported to be.
