If you water has low pH then this unit will raise the pH of your water. 'Normal' pH is 7.0 or higher. Acid water is anything below 6.9. I'm not sure if that helps you.

Why is the lower end pH 6.5? My water is around pH 6.0, other neutralizers can handle lower pH.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage. Garbage. Less then 3 yrs old and it started to leak. Called water boss and the sent parts. replaced o rings and parts and it leaked worse. They told me to send it back to them, at my cost, and they'd fix it. i spent hours replacing O rings before I called them and nothing would stop the cheap plastic pieces from leaking. I'm gonna get a Fleck next time.
