The showerhead does not have a hand turn off.

Can it be used easily in place of current head on shower?

The current shower has a long pipe from the tub up and what appears to be a screw-in head. I want to replace that with the hand held that can be hung up there but can also be taken down to spray where you want! Could not find a brand name on it! Will look again later when there is more light in the daytime.

If the shower pipe is a standard 1/2" NPT any shower system will adapt to the pipe coming up from the tub. The IDC-763 model has our hidden pivot ball design. This system requires at least 2" of shower pipe to mount the pivot ball and bracket components. Perhaps our SM-653 shower with standard pivot ball would work better in your situation.

Customer Reviews

Medallion Discover 7-Spray Hand Shower in Brushed Nickel-DISCONTINUED is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good, but FAR from great; might not meet expectations Pro: Very easy to install, has a variety of settings that one may see as convenience, a standard American-style handheld shower head. Con: Full-body spray mode is not so "full body" for it only spray around the edges and leaves a Gapping hole in the middle. In combination mode, such as massage/ powerspray and massage/ full body, massage mode seems very weak, it felt like it was barely spraying even if water is on max. Overall: A very standard handshower head, will provide satisfaction for users who aren't looking for relaxing and invigorating baths, would have given 4 stars if not for the "awkward" full-body mode

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Big Hole in the Middle We had an old (10 years or more) plastic Waterpik hand held that I replaced with this one. I couldn't wait to try it out. Unfortunately, my excitement quickly turned to disappointment when I noticed that there is a big hole (no water flow at all) in the middle of the shower head when it is on what I would consider to be the "normal" or full body spray settings (last two settings all the way to the right). It is very difficult to get a good hair and body rinse without any water stream in the middle of the shower head. The water pressure was good for all of the settings and the installation was easy, but it does not make up for the big hole in the middle of the shower head. For now, we are reinstalling our old Waterpik which still works great, and returning the new Waterpik Medallion 7.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Medallion Discover 7 Spray Chrome Handheld I bought this hand held shower for the girls to use to wash their hair while kneeling outside of the tub. The feature that I really wanted was a trickle setting. After you wet your hair and want to lay the shower head in the tub, I wanted one that wouldn't spray water everywhere. This is not the case with this. The "trickle" feature reduces the force of the water a bit but still sprays hard enough to have the water easily spray out of the tub and all over the floor. I called Waterpik customer service and was told that this is how the trickle feature works. The other sprays the shower can produce are good. But it does not do what the package said it will do. It is a light weight plastic shower. So I am returning and hunting for another brand.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 4 Stars The only and the only thing I would prefer is that the spray/pulsating setting were stronger on the pulsating jets.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This shower head is so bad that my wife is mad at me for buying it. I got fooled by the packaging for this product. It says water saving trickle is one of the selectable spray settings. I wanted something that would save water while by trickling while I wash hair or scrub my body. On the 5 settings that I was able to use instead of 7 stated, none of them trickled. All of them blasted water out. If I wanted a powerful shower head this would be great. But I want a powerful shower head that also trickles when I want it to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Features, easy install and great spray. I purchased this showerhead to replace the fixed mount waterpik in my shower. The installation was leass than ten minutes, it doesn't leak and I love the varriety of massage settings! The best shower I have ever had! I personally like the even flow spray it has and don't have a problem with the "mainspray" in the middle that some had an issue with. Have already recommended this to family and friends. I got at a great deal on sale as well. My grandson will love this when he comes to visit at my house.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Came apart after one year. I bought one of these almost exactly a year ago. It worked fine and was easy to install, but all of a sudden one side of the head popped off, started leaking like crazy, and was totally unusable. Shower head had not been dropped or anything, just came apart. No way to fix it, or put it back in place. Rubbish.
