Can it be used easily in place of current head on shower?

The current shower has a long pipe from the tub up and what appears to be a screw-in head. I want to replace that with the hand held that can be hung up there but can also be taken down to spray where you want! Could not find a brand name on it! Will look again later when there is more light in the daytime.

If the shower pipe is a standard 1/2" NPT any shower system will adapt to the pipe coming up from the tub. The IDC-763 model has our hidden pivot ball design. This system requires at least 2" of shower pipe to mount the pivot ball and bracket components. Perhaps our SM-653 shower with standard pivot ball would work better in your situation.
