Answer:
No you do not need one of these in the water system of an RV, you can accomplish the same function of this valve by opening a faucet when you drain the water tank or water heater when winterizing the system. that is not even necessary but it will allow it to drain faster

I installed one of these on a steam humidifier and it started to leak about a week after it was installed. I'm curious if I have a bad one or if I should have bought an O.E.M one.

Thanks

Answer:
The LFN36-M1 can be used on low pressure steam systems (up to 15-PSI) if installed using a pigtail fitting to prevent live steam from damaging the valve.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst ever I bought 2 because I know it won't last more than 6 months. When one starts leaking I change it and sand the nicks out of the brass seat so I can get one more life out of it. May 13, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good product The product was what I thought it wold be, a relief valve for a water line December 9, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Low cost alternitive Used this valve to replace the 95.00 vacuum relief valve on my swimming pool solar heating system on the roof. The purpose of this valve is to eliminate the possibility of the the system collapsing when the water drains from all the tubing by allowing air into the system, these work just as well as the far more expensive valves at the pool supply houses. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by GOOD PRICE A LEAK OCCURRED WITH IN TWO YEARS OF INSTALL AND DAMAGED THE TOP OF THE TANK, THE LEAK WAS BECAUSE THE VALVE WAS NOT SEALING INTERNALLY. February 6, 2014
