Rated 1 out of 5 by This product brakes after 2 yers of service I'm a plumber and I need bunch of brass connectors for my work and this coupling was one of them. The major flaw in this particular coupling it will brake after a year or two. It will create a brake point from one thread to another (nice smooth crack). There is simply not enough brass to make it sturdy to last years to come (or maybe it's the "low led factor"). After fourth broken coupling and couple water leaks I chose different coupling with more brass April 6, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 split right down the middle lengthwise About a year and a half ago I was helping a buddy with a kitchen and we connected to the old galvanized pipe with this coupling. Yesterday I helped him fix a big friggin mess because this fitting had failed. This was only one failure out of the two couplings we installed, but any failure after only a year and a half suggests that something really bad is going on here to me. We didn't buy this coupling because it was cheap, we bought it because it was the only style that they carried. I don't know why the home centers don't carry the original style anymore but if it's because they can sell this one cheaper they aren't doing their customers any favor. May 28, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Split Like the other reviewers, this fitting split on me after just a few years. This was on the cold water inlet of a shower mixing valve. The same fitting on the hot side is still intact, but I'll have to remove it to be safe, as long as I have the wall torn open. October 15, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by DON'T BUY!! SPLITS thread to thread lengthwise like other reviewers state. As others have mentioned, this coupler split from end to end lengthwise after 3 years of installation inside my wall. This was on the valve to tub spout connection where there is little back pressure on that pipe. Home Depot should take these off the shelf. June 23, 2014
