Product Overview

The patented design of this connector protects against catastrophic water damage caused by burst, broken or ruptured water supply hoses and fittings. It automatically shuts off the water supply to plumbing fixtures/appliances if excess water flow is sensed, and will remain in the closed position until it is reset. The shutoff valve is located on the inlet end of the supply line, and there are no mechanical moving parts which mean no power required for installation.

I have a valve that has a 1/4 male compression thread that I need to connect to a 90 deg elbow so my water line is closer to the wall. This is for my my new frig that will have very little rear clearance.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Follow the instructions. I see many negative reviews here, but as someone else said....follow the instructions. When I installed the line I tried to flush it out first, I learned quickly that you MUST turn on the supply very slowly...AND you may have to hook it up to the ice maker and then turn it on very slowly to max so as the valve doesn't shut off the water supply. Do everything in order...flush out the best you can for best tasting ice, hook up to ice maker....turn supply valve on slowly and then throw away the first few batches of ice as the bad flavor (could) be in the maker itself. It's a comforting fact that if the water line ever fails past the supply valve, it will shut off. Yes!!! And again it's in the instructions for a very easy reset if that happens. March 15, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Product But, Could Not Use It I bought this hose with intentions of hooking this up to my fridge. I installed it, it was easy, and I was sure to turn the water on SLOWLY to insure that the valve did not "lock up". The water dispensed from the fridge fine but, the safety valve that is built into this hose causes the refrigerator to stick out too far...therefore, I had to return it back to the store. Hose works good but, this hose did not work for me in my application. January 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by follow the instructions Follow the instructions! Easy as pie. Works great. Stupid rat chewed through my old line and ruined my kitchen floor. Got this as a replacement. Built in anti flood would have saved me a ton of money and pain. Simply follow the instructions to get the proper orientation and to SLOWLY turn on the water. August 23, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Read and follow!!! Sometimes we have a tendency to throw instructions away, thinking, "I've got this, I don't need instructions". Guess what, they are there for a reason! Follow instructions and it all works good. Looks good, tastes good... July 12, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by High Water Pressure did not allow water to flow through I used this line to connect my icemaker. The quick connectors make it easy to install, and the product appears to be well made, but an issue with installation is having the correct water pressure. For me, the shutoff device never allowed water to flow through, because of high water pressure. Since I don't know how to regulate the water pressure coming out of the faucet, don't care to hire a plumber, and know that using a regular line worked fine with my old refrigerator, I'll just go back to that system. I still think the floodsafe valve has its merits, but in my case it would require hiring a professional to set things up. That entails extra cost and therefore results in poor value. To avoid a line break I'll resort to using a quality stainless steel line (w/out floodsafe valve) and check it periodically. March 10, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by bad tasting water/ice I used this to hook up my new refridgerator. ...from day one, even after running about 25gallons through the system, my water and ice had a chemical/metalic taste. I checked everything, including purchasing another filter (refrigerator specific), which didn't solve the problem. Then recently googling the problem, I found that others who have purchased this (or other hoses like this from WATTS) have the same problem which was resolved by replacing with copper tubing. Unfortunately I don't have my receipt, this was purchased a few months ago. I will be removing it and taking it to the store to see what the manager can do. July 14, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Shut off valve too sensitive The idea is great, the execution, not so much. Installed on city water lines, could only open the main supply valve half way before the valve on this line shut off. Opened the main supply slowly half way, the valve on the supply line was fine. After the first batch of cubes was made, the ice maker "called" for more water. The water pressure was enough to shut off the valve in the supply line again. I am not willing to disconnect and reconnect the line every time a batch of cubes is made. Good idea for a location where occupancy is limited (vacation home, etc.) but too sensitive for normal installations. No wonder there were a number of resealed packages available at the store. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This thing works, and saved me from a lot of damage Having experienced a flood from a cracked plastic icemaker water line, I installed one of these on a new icemaker that I installed at my vacation home. While we were away it appears that the float valve in the icemaker failed, allowing a constant flow of water to the icemaker. This FloodSafe device functioned perfectly, shutting down the water supply to the ice maker before my condo flooded. Without it the water could have run for weeks. Easy to install. Well worth the money. March 23, 2012
